Eagles DE DanielTe’o-Nesheim Must Prove He Belongs Here

It was just one practice and they weren’t wearing pads but Eagles third round pick Daniel Te’o Nesheim took a beating in this morning’s practice.¬† He was bullied by nearly every backup offensive line the Eagles have on the roster.

It’s very early and he’s just getting his first tastes of the NFL, so he’ll get plenty of chances to adjust and strengthen his resolve.¬† Don’t count this young out, but somebody had better tell the youngster that he’ll want no parts of Jason Peters when he gets here, if Fenukie Tupou and rookie free agent Jeraill McCuller are whupping his butt.¬†

The third round pick kept fighting but he’s got to come with more power than that, or he must find a way to avoid letting them get their hands on him.

He couldn’t get anything done from both the right end spot, then when he came inside, he was totally dominated in there as well.

Don’t take this the wrong way.¬† This young man is getting his first taste of the NFL and hopefully he’ll be able to bounce back, but he must show the Eagles coaching staff that he can rush the passer better than he did this morning.

Offensive lineman after offensive lineman push him to the ground then took turns pounding him into the Lehigh grass.¬† Each time he would get slammed, Juan Castillo, the Eagles offensive line coach would come running, jumping and celebrating the job done by the “O” lineman.

Te’o-Nesheim would get up each time.¬† Dust himself off, then before you knew it he was down on the grass again.¬† He’s got some major adjustments to make and he may be capable of making them.

These offensive lineman, including the backups, move very well for their size.¬† Each of them has long-arms, so they’re going to get their hands on him before he gets his hands on them.

Therefore he must use the proper technique or he will have no chance of getting anything done against these mammoth, long-armed and quick-footed athletes.

Ricky Sapp did a much better job in his battles.¬† He would lose one then win one and he wasn’t buried in the grass like Te’o Nesheim.¬† Sapp does a good job by staying low on his rush because the big offensive lineman aren’t always able to bend over enough to get down there to stop him.

In some of the vids I saw yesterday of the 1on1’s w/ the lineman Teo showed some fight but he nees more power so I agree w/ G. Sapp however has tons of speed however I see him trying more to just sprint to the edge rather than use a combo of power and speed, sometimes he coming around so fast and low the OLinman just pancakes him and it’s all over. Sapp’s got a great burst though but you need more than that in the NFL.

Thanks for report G,
I think we will see lots of this during camp with all these young players going at it he first week or 2…
1 day they look good, the next day they look bad…These guys are just getting their football legs and skills and Football IQ back and the ones who can pace themselves (at a high level) will be more consistent and stick out more to the coaches.

can throw this bum in the same class as trevor law abiamiri and the few bums we picked up in the draft this year who will be cut or let go with no statements explaining why the FO got key picks wrong yet again. We need to switch with the Dallas Cowboys front office. Maybe they’ll then be stupid enough to trade out of the first round and give us their pick in the 1st round, so we can use the pick to help us kick them out of the playoffs.

Yep, that’s what we have to worry about is Dallas in the playoffs – cause they’re really a playoff proven team in the last 10-15 years. Yep. No sarcasm here. The one win they have didn’t come against a team with 2 deep injuries at MLB and down the starting center. Nope. And every team should be held accountable for getting every single draft pick correct. Yep, that is not a ridiculous statement. And Dallas has drafted so freakin well. They have made the playoffs once in over 10 years. GREAT DRAFTING. Songs, you are incredibly consistent and I commend you for that.

I hope the kid can turn it around, but it was a head scratcher when he was taken in the third round. It may be another third rounder like Bryan Smith from McNeese State. It sounds like he will run through a wall for the coaches, but he may just bounce off. Practice squad for a red shirt year and I hope he improves physically.

The guy weighs 250 and admitted he has trouble keeping on weight. He’s playing against gus way over 300 lbs. If he doesn’t have quickness the weight room will only alow him to play patty cake, not get to the QB. I hope Howie is still excited about him. I remember Howie saying they had been watching LB Hall from a far and were impressed by him and he’s already gone. What happened?
