As expected Donovan McNabb was downgraded to out of the Sunday night game agaiinst the New England Patriots. His ankle and thumb haven't improved to level to let him play.
I don't think it's any kind of behind the scenes move. McNabb is hurt and did everything he could to try to get back but he's not healthy enough to play against the Pats. Hopefully this will be the only game he misses. The Birds don't have any room for error if they want to make the playoffs.
Safety Quintin Mikell is also out of the game and this is also bad news for the Birds. The Eagles defense wasn't going to be able to stop the Pats with Mikell but things will be even worse without him.
