Numerous times during practice the Eagles will do some situational practice which involves working on managing the clock and/or play calling during a specific game situation.
This situational work involves things like getting a time out called with the clock running out and the Eagles trailing. They work on throwing the ball outside and utilzing the sideline to control the clock and maximize the time left. It also means getting the field goal team in without getting a penalty in the final minute of the first half or at the end of a game.
Andy and Donovan work on their communications so they won't make the same mistake they made at the end of the Super Bowl. The key is having everybody on the same page.
The defense also has to work on game situations. There are times when they guard the sideline so that an offense can't throw outside routes, get out of bounds and conserve their time on the clock. The defense will also work on getting a team stopped and calling a timeout. The special teams will work on preparing for an onside kick, or working on a hurry up field goal attempt. Many times a second or two will make the difference between a win and a loss.
It may look boring if you're out there watching them, but when everything is executed properly in a game to get a win, you think back to that situation work in practice.
