Nobody has come out as the clear cut pick to be the number one selection in this year's draft. It looks like it's going to be Virginia defensive end Chris Long or LSU's defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey. Quarterback Matt Ryan from Boston College is regarded as the number one quarterback.

Michigan’s Mario Manningham was supposed to be a speed guy but he ran a 4.6 in the forty yard dash and measured out as just under 6 feet . He’s definitely not the guy for the Birds. Wide receiver Devin Thomas from Michigan State helped himself mightily by running a 4.4 in the 40 yard [...]

The more I read about the Belichick stuff, I'm convinced that the NFL is now involved in a serious cover-up. Notice that the Patriots has an outside firm now speaking on their behalf. Notice also that all of the league's coaches are saying word for word the same thing.

The tight ends got their workout in Indianapolis today and some of them helped themselves while others hurt their chances of going early. The top rated tight end USC's Fred Davis didn't run the 40 yard dash but did participate in pass catching drills and was impressive.

New England just signed former head coach and defensive coordinator, Dom Capers as an assistant head coach . I think it's a preemptive move by the Patriots to prepare for the possible suspension of head coach Bill Belichick. Capers will take over if Belichick is suspended.

It's a done deal now, Donte Stallworth is on the market. The New England Patriots let Stallworth know that they weren't going to give him the $6 million dollar bonus next week, so he'll now be a free agent. We'll see whether the Eagles step to the plate and make a move after Stallworth.

Geoff Mosher of the Delawareonline.com just reported that Jevon Kearse's agent, Drew Rosenhaus said Jevon will be released. Yesterday the Eagles denied that they were parting ways with Kearse but it's very obvious now Jevon won't be playing with the Eagles in 2008.
