I think Stephen A. Smith got Kobe Bryant to talk before he had made up his mind. He was talking out of frustration when he demanded a trade early in the day yesterday.
Kobe had been sitting and fuming because he's had to sit and watch all of his contemporaries battle through playoffs night after night. The competitive fire in him was bound to wind up getting out of control. As he was fuming, Stephen A. got him on the phone and Kobe couldn't help himself.
After having a talk with his coach Phil Jackson, Kobe calmed down. Bryant should realize that you can't start running your mouth about something so volital as demanding a trade, until you've had time to sit and consider what you're going to say will produce.
I think Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has a good idea in starting another football league . He says that there's more demand for football than the NFL can meet. He says he going to target markets like, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Antonio and etc. They say the money to get into the NFL is totally ridiculous. He says he wants to start in 2008. We'll see how he makes out.
The Phils lose another one and give back what they gained with the sweep of the Braves. The Spurs finished things up with the Jazz. Utah put up a fight for the first four games before caving in.
I read an article in the New York Daily News where they disclosed problems in Alex Rodriguez' marriage. They had reporters asking questions of his wife as she was packing a couple of bags and leaving their New York apartment. Why would reporters be camped outside his apartment? I know all of this Soap Opera stuff sells papers but it seems like it's taken over from the sports.
