Power Of A Positive Outlook 6/14/07

From Tom Milichap,

Mr. Cobb,
I really enjoyed this article. I have passed it along to others that I hope get the point.
As a long time ice hockey and lacrosse coach (and father of five)I am a big fan of the power of a positive outlook. A negative perspective will drain the life out of a person. I guess it all comes down to "If it was easy…….everyone would do it!".
Have a great day!
Tom

Tom,

I'm glad you enjoy it.  I'm amazed more each day about how important it is that kids believe their parents think they've got value.I'm glad you enjoyed what I had to say.

From Mark T. Jordan,

hey G … i just really wanted to thank you for calling the trotter situation clean. it is so painfully obvious when certain local media guys get carried away with their praise for a fan favorite. trotter has not played well and has abused his "leadership" status. you pointed out in all fairness …the situation where trotter blamed the D line for his poor play. that is where i became a "nonfan" of #54. he has always been one to over commit and run himself out of a play. once he (as a team leader) started to point fingers it was over for me. he stated before last season that it was going to be an MVP season for him. now we hear how he is going to be in better shape for this season…..sorry  it is too little too late. my question is this… is there anyone on the team that can really be better all around at the MLB position? is omar the future? any chance of moving spikes in the middle and …..????

Mark,

I try to call like I see it.  Understand that I think a lot of Jeremiah Trotter, but he made a horrible mistake last year, when he said his D line was too small.  That's really like throwing up the white flag.  If McNabb had said that about his receivers or his line, he would have been crucified.

I think Trot is going to be the starter at the middle linebacker spot to start the season.  They're going to get Gaither on the field quite a bit on passing down but Trot will likely start.   If his legs start to labor then theyI'll move Gaither in ahead of him.  I don't think  they'll ask Spikes to move over to the middle.
