Eagles and NFL News Headlines

Eagles safety Brian Dawkins was chairman of a golf tournament for burn victims this past Monday, but he didn't appear at the tournament because he's still in Jacksonville with his wife and family .  Brian's wife gave birth to twins and they were born two months prematurely and had to spend extra time in the hospital , so Dawk has remained by her side.  For all those Eagles fans who were worrying about Dawk and fearing something was wrong with him, you can now relax.

Former Eagle, 49er, and Bronco linebacker Bill Romanowski admitted he was taking illegal drugs and supplements during his years in the NFL.  Well he's still messing with drugs and supplements but this time they're legal.  Romo who had been suffering from concussions he had suffered from over the years is currently marketing some type of healing supplements .

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell laid down the law on Monday to this year's NFL rookies at this year's NFL rookie symposium in Florida. He let them know that they will be expected to handle themselves in a upstanding manner during their careers as pro football players.  Of course his comments take on a stronger meaning in light the problems facing Tennessee Titans cornerback Pacman Jones and former Chicago Bear Tank Johnson.

Former Washington Redskins quarterback and ESPN football analyst Joe Theismann said that Donovan McNabb has no reason to be concerned about the Eagles drafting rookie quarterback Kevin Kolb with their first pick.  He says McNabb  is one of the great quarterbacks in the game and that he will be the Eagles quarterback as long as he wants to be.

Former New York Giants Hall Of Fame linebacker Harry Carson is standing up for all the former NFL players who are fighting for a better retirement package from Gene Upshaw and the NFLPA.  Carson will speak in front of the U.S. Congress on Tuesday at the hearing about the battle between the NFLPA and former NFL greats.

ESPN's NFL reporter John Clayton gives us his take on numerous NFL controversies such as:  the possible holdouts by the Chiefs Larry Johson, Steeler Alan Faneca, first round quarterbacks Jamarcus Russell and Brady Quinn,  the Pats Asante Samuels,  and the battle between the NFLPA and former NFL stars.
