Fans Should Focus On Production

Maybe there's hope after all for the Phillies.  The Pittsburgh baseball fans employed a massive walkout during a game last week and today Pittsburgh Pirates CEO Kevin McClatchy Steps Down  Who knows it might work here in Philly?

For all of you who don't believe the War On Terror is real.  Checkout the article in the Inquirer about how those terrorists in London were trying to get graduate study visas to come to the United States .

Bill Conlin writes a piece on Philly.com about the most disastrous trades in Phillies history .  One of them involved power hitting 3rd baseman and 1st baseman Dick Allen. I remember a couple of years back when I talked to Dick Allen, he told me that he wished I had been in the radio when he was playing on the Phillies during the 1960's.  Dick said he didn't believe he would have been traded because I would have been fighting for him.  I don't know if that's true but I'll guarantee I probably would have been fighting for him.  It's easy to fight for somebody who produces.  For some reason here we're harder on the great players.  How could you trade somebody with the talent of Dick Allen?  It's a good argument whether he was a Hall Of Famer but there's no question that he had Hall Of Fame talent and only a team with issues would trade him.  We've got to do a better job of focusing on production and not off the field nonsense.

I like the fact that the Sixers are considering going after 7 foot power forward Darko Milicic.  It's good to know that they want somebody else on the team other than small forwards.
