Why Isn’t #5 Considered All-Time Great?

From Erik,

What's Up G. Cobb, My question is about whether Tom Brady was put on the All-Time great list because of the Super Bowls and post-season performances alone?  I agree he is an all-time great but McNabb has better numbers than him.  McNabb has played in 8 more games than Brady, but if you factor in all the time that McNabb has missed his numbers would be through the roof.  Donovan had over 2600 yards passing in 10 games last year, but McNabb has never won a championship.  Is that why Marino didn't crack the top 10 either?  My third question is why isn't McNabb considered an all-time great?

Erik,

Yes Tom Brady is on the All-Time list because of what he has done in the post season.  Winning three championships puts him in the Hall-of-Fame right now.  McNabb having better numbers doesn't mean as much as three Super Bowl rings.  And yes the reason Marino isn't in the Top Ten is because he never won a championship.  If he had won a Super Bowl he would be considered the best QB of all-time without a doubt.  McNabb isn't considered an All-time great because he hasn't put enough big numbers because of injuries  and the fact that he hasn't played long enough. Also Donovan needs to win a Super Bowl.  With a Super Bowl ring and a few full seasons of big numbers, he'll be on the all-time list, but it's easier said than done.
