MSNBC predicts that the Eagles will win the NFC East . They go even further to say that they give the Birds a good chance to make it to the Super Bowl.
The writer says that the Eagles success will come down to the health of Donovan. I agree that they'll need McNabb to have any chance of making it to and winning the big one, but I do think they can win some regular season games without him. We saw it last year that a competent QB with the Birds running game and a decent defensive effort can produce victories.
Some of these national predictions are a joke especially when you find out that these guys don't really know anything about that particular team. They said something about the Birds running the ball more and throwing deep more often after McNabb got hurt. We all know that Jeff Garcia has mastered the short passing game but he's not as effective throwing deep. On the other hand Donovan is an outstanding deep thrower.
