I don't know the exact reason why but former Eagles receiver Donte Stallworth is on the Physically Unable To Perform list for the Pats. One of the reasons the Birds let him go was because of his injury history.
I have to give credit to one of the GCobb.com readers for pointing this out. Mike McDaniel pointed this out. I don't know what the details are but if for some reason he misses a lot of action, the Eagles would have been right again. One of the Boston.com writers calls Stallworth's trip to the PUP list one of the top disappointments of camp so far. We know he made the same move shortly after he joined the Birds. When you think back to last year, he came in and made a good impression then wasn't able to play for about four or five weeks. Of course it was during this time that the Birds went into a losing streak and one of the reasons was their inability to get deep.
I know you're probably already aware that Corey Simon has finally been given his walking papers by the Indianapolis Colts but he's another situation which the Eagles have proven to be right on. They have been uncanny about knowing when to part ways with players. Granted the Stallworth situation isn't completed but nonetheless it doesn't look good him if he's already in the tank.
