McNabb Can’t Say What He Knows

Donovan was playing like a wide receiver today, trying to get his toes in bound,  yet still hang onto the ball.  When asked about playing with a dominant big time receiver as compared to the garbage he has played with, McNabb went around in a circle.

Donovan was trying to come up with the right answer but it was tough.  He can't say what he knows is the truth because he would be stabbing his teammates in the back.  He knows it's better to have a Superstar receiver like Terrell Owens, Randy Moss, Marvin Harrison or Reggie Wayne, rather than having the sorry group of receivers he's had for most of his career here in Philly.

He and Brian Westbrook were asked about why they don't have the swagger they had in 2004.  Both of them meandered around the questions but each of them said  it comes down the confidence they had then.  They walked on the field knowing that a defense couldn't stop both Owens and Westbrook at the same time.  They had to committ to stopping on of them and hoping that the other wouldn't run wild.   This team has never had that type of fire power thanks to the sorry job that Andy Reid the General Manager has done.

What would Jim Johnson say to a question about defending against Owens and Westbrook or Westbrook and Reggie Brown?  Perhaps the Eagles with Charles Johnson, Torrance Small, James Thrash and Todd Pinkston would more intimidating than dealing with Owens.  If somebody thinks the Birds are just as good of a football team with those sorry receivers as compared to T.O., I want that person to get tested for drug use.
