Roy Williams Wary Of Being Traded

Lions wide receiver Roy Williams repeated he wants to stay in Detroit.

He was interviewed in Dallas during the weekend while he was attending the Texas relays track meet and his former teammate Michael Huff's charity basketball game.

It seems that Williams is concerned that he might be traded by the Lions because they might not be able or willing to resign him next year.  Williams knows that the Lions might not be willing to put more than $20 million dollars into their wide receiver position.

2nd year wide reciever Calvin Johnson has even more outrageous speed and size than Williams.  Sure the Lions would like to sign both of them for the long term but it might not be feasible for a team that says it wants to run the football more.

Williams is saying all of the right things but he knows that he could still get traded.  He even said that he would have no problem playing with Terrell Owens.   He said he sees no problem with Owens demanding the ball if he doesn't get it and the team loses.

If something does happen with him it will take place right around the drat.  Stay tuned usually where they're smoke there's fire and I hope it's the Eagles who are lighting the match.
