For first time in his NFL career, Brian Dawkins isn't on the Eagles roster as the free agent period begins at 12.01am.
Dawkins and the Eagles are talking but they haven't been able to workout a contract as of yet. Dawkins and another long-time Eagles veteran Tra Thomas are finding places to workout other than the Eagles Nova Care complex.
All the teams have money so don't expect these guys or other free agents to sign quickly because teams are going to be bidding against each other. It's a good time to be a highly sought after free agent.
I'm sure the Eagles have set ceilings for every player so that they don't get into a bidding war and get ridiculously out of control while going after these free agents.
They don't want to be the team that sets standard. They would rather another team step up to the table and then they can sit down and decide whether they're willing to go that far to sign a certain player.
