Jags Have Open Spot At OT Now

A report in the NFPost.com has veteran OT  Khalif Barnes, who had played the entire 4 years of his career in Jacksonville, ready to sign with the Raiders.  That could open up things for Tra Thomas.

There had been speculation that the Jags had brought big Tra down to visit in order to use it as leverage against Barnes.  Once he signs that whole line of thinking has to thrown away.

Thomas, who has played all of his 11 years in the NFL visited the Jaguars earlier this week.  He left without a contract offer but had said that the talks went well.

Players who are still without a team won't have as much leverage in their negotiations if they don't have at least two teams bidding for their services.

Thomas may have to lower what he's looking for and take the job if it's offered.
