Boley To Miss Giants Season Opener

Off the field behavior is the reason Plaxico Burress won't be on the field for the Giants when they open their season against the Redskins in September and the same is true for recently acquired OLB Michael Boley.

We all know about the shooting incident which has left Burress unemployed and unsigned, but most fans had no idea that the new Giants outside linebacker Boley would take this hit.  On the otherhand, the Giants front office knew this was coming.

Boley was judged by NFL Commissioner Roger Goddell to have violated the league’s Personal Conduct Policy because of an arrest involving a domestic dispute.  He was still a member of the Atlanta Falcons when he was charged with domestic battery stemming from the forementioned incident.

Reports stated that he struck and pushed his wife Chantelle during the 2008 domestic dispute.  The case hadn't been resolved until now and that's the reason the NFL office waited until this week to make a judgement on the suspension.
