The Eagles are hosting free agent Colts cornerback Marlin Jackson at the Nova Care complex today and tomorrow. He was in Baltimore visiting with the Ravens earlier today.
The Birds think he could man the free safety spot for them this season.
Jackson’s last two season have ended with ACL tears so it’s not reasonable to see him as a corner because he’s probably lost some speed.
The Eagles just want him to be healthy so they’ll likely take a close look at his knees.
The fact that he played the corner position in the Colts cover two defense means he has some toughness and can tackle. Add that to that his coverage skills as a corner and you might have an ideal safety prospect.
Free safeties must have some corner skills because teams do a great job getting the safeties isolated on receivers. This makes Jackson very attractive to the Birds.
It sounds like the Eagles are very interested in Jackson
