Eagles Want Pick Amongst Top 42 In Draft

The AP is reporting that the Eagles are demanding a pick amongst the top 42 for veteran signal caller Donovan McNabb.  Who knows where this is headed?

They say a source close to the situation has let that be known that the Birds won’t consider an offer unless it has a pick within the top 42.

I could hear another team ask, what about amongst the top 43, what about 44, or 45, or 46,¬† or 47….etc.

Who knows what would make the Birds will to make a move and who knows where things stand right now between the Eagles and McNabb?

You don’t see any of the Birds front office running out in public to get on a mic and deny that he is indeed on the trading block.

Yet you and I know that they will deny that any of this happened if McNabb returns for the 2010 season.

You would think now that it would be out of the question, but unless the Eagles are able to get what they want from a team in the league, we may see McNabb come into camp for the Birds as their starting quarterback, again.

This doesn’t look like it’s going to end pretty or if it’s going to end any time soon.

That will give more time to members of the city’s sports media and fans to psychoanalyze McNabb because the Eagles didn’t win this game or the Eagles didn’t win that game.

Notice you don’t read or hear all that psycho babble when it comes to Brian Dawkins, Brian Westbrook, Troy Vincent, Hugh Douglas, Trent Cole or other Pro Bowlers who were on those teams that lost championship games.

None of those guys stepped up with any big plays in all of those games but they are immune to criticism and that’s the issue I have with the city’s media and many of the sports fans.

You can’t tell me you believe in team ball but when the team loses it’s all one guy’s fault.

The departure of all the other players in the past decade hasn’t been pretty because that’s part of the business and it’s why as a player, you must handle your business properly.
