A few months ago, I wrote an article emphasizing the importance of Ed Wade in the development of the current Phillies ball club, but I’m going further.¬† I think the Phils need to give him a World Series ring.
Today Philly.com’s Bob Brookover lays out the case for Ed Wade.
Wade was the GM when the Phillies acquired Ryan Howard, Chase Utley, Shane Victgorino, and Carlos Ruiz.  That alone is enough for him to get a ring, but he did more than that.
The 2008 World Series MVP, Cole Hamels was drafted while Wade was the GM.  That also is enough for him to get a ring.
J.A. Happ was also picked up when Wade was the GM.
I know he looks like a geek, especially with those glasses he used to wear, but you can’t deny his contributions.
