I Have No Problem With The Tasering Of The Stupid Teenager

Here you have another episode here in Philadelphia involving a teenager making a fool of himself and adding to the city’s reputation of being the home of out of control fans.

Is it a coincidence that this happens only weeks since the other fool was throwing up on the little girls?

I don’t have any problem with the Phillies security using a taser on that stupid teenager, Steve Consalvi, who ran out on the Citizens Bank Park field yesterday.

Officers don’t have the luxury of knowing what somebody’s intentions are when they run onto the field.¬† What if somebody runs out there with a weapon to assault a player?

You can’t afford to let idiots run onto the field¬† They should know that they’re going to pay a price if they run out there.

“He wasn’t drinking. He was not on drugs,” said Steve’s father Wayne Consalvi.

He may not have been drinking or have been on drugs but you can’t tell that when he’s running onto the field.

How are the people in charge supposed to know the reason he ran onto the field?

He thinks a lot of his son which you can understand but I see no reason why he shouldn’t be tasered if he’s stupid enough to run on the field.

The youngster called his father from the stadium before he ran onto the field and asked him if it was alright if he were to run onto the field.

“He said, ‘Dad, can I run on the field? I said, ‘I don’t think you should, son.’ ”

“This would be a once in a lifetime experience!” the son said.

I wouldn’t mind if they busted up idiots who run on the field even more.¬† They’re a danger to everybody.

I think the Phillies front office and coaches should start using the method (“Taser) this Phillies bullpen and startes C Hamels and K Kendrick) before this season slips away from them…
I have a bad feel about this year and the Phillies and they may struggle to finish .500
Havwe they beaten any good teams yet…

We never fail to have some who personifies the “City of Brotherly Love” and displays it in front of everyone. While I know that other cities have idiots that do stupid things as well, Philly is different. We always get upset when someone uses a stereotype. And yes you cannot classify a city by a few people but the fact of the matter is that behind every stereotype there is some truth. In Philly, we pride ourselves on being passionate and a lot of times we cross the line of passionate and go straight to pathetic.

We fight other fans who don’t like how we feel. We fight people who like other teams. And some feel proud of this stuff. One thing we should know about Philly is that our fan base is different than others. Every athlete that has played here and played somewhere else will tell you that Philly fans a different and we are. I just wish somebody didn’t have pride in being the village idiot. Of course the majority of fans are great, but like negativity in anything else, it spreads a lot faster and is more noticeable and stands out faster. Philly fans will always be known as the most passionate but also the most rabid. Unfortunately, we have to take both for now.

Hey paulman, I’m with you. I don’t feel good about this season. People were talking about how this may be the best team ever after 10 games. I don’t think so. Our pitching will be our downfall if they don’t get it together.

G:
The story that will happen is how Santana recovers from the Cretan treatment he received in Philadelphia. Those cavemen fans in Philly…. Don’t let it happen G! The fans at the park jeered Santana off of the mound in an instance when an acomplished professional should not have been effected. Criticize as much as you will, G, he caved. And Phillies fans made him cave. DO NOT let the national media make this into some kind of transformation for Santana when he has a good outing. YOU KNOW BETTER!!!

I think tasering should be used as a deterrent more often. This kid got what he desereved. Now we’ll see how many people think it’s a good idea to run onto the field.

nah im at the citizens and im at the wachovia wont dare catch me shelling out cash to sit in the linc when ownershpi constantly puts out a team that is just good enough to maybe make playoffs but to win it all ownership would like to rely on luck rather then make a few key moves to put us ove the hump i will eject myself from the linc

The dad is a dumbass. He should have told this fool that it is against the law to run on the field and prohibited him. Better parenting is obviously needed here.

As for our pitching, if we kept Lee, we would be fine.

Lee would not make a difference right now (has he even pitched yet…)
This pitching staff is not fine. the bullpen is is basically about the level of AAA relief corps..
Hamels will be lucky to go 10-15 with 5.5 ERA , Kendrick is AAA material , Moyer is 46 years old
and a 5.5 era pitcher , Blanton and Happ are not 100 % ..
Outside of Hallady, all other Starters are about 5-6 inning pitchers with ERA’s around 5.0 or higher range and then they turn the ball over to this bullpen where Baes,Madson,Contreras, Herndon,Romero,Lidge, all have shown so far that they cannont consisntently hold a lead…
Bastardo and Durbin has done pretty well so far but this Pitching Staff and the specifically the Bullpen will keep the Phillies out of the playoffs and definitely out of another shot for a World Series

He wasn’t drinking. He was not on drugs,” said Steve’s father Wayne Consalvi.
Just another example of idiots raising idiots.

I like having fun, just like everybody else, however it stays within the rules. (most times)
When a parent somehow thinks this behavior is okay, where do they draw the line? (when it’s too late)
My dad would have kicked my ass, and I would have deserved it. There are far too many crazies out there and people who don’t know when to stop. Hold his bonehead father accountable.

I love when fans run onto the field. It’s extremely entertaining. I was at a Chicago White Sox game when it happened and I just want to dump a beer on people’s head who get so offended by it. It rarely happens so it’s not much of an inconvenience to fans. I also applaud the security officer for using a taser which adds to the entertainment factor.

Paulman….stick to mock drafts and silly trade scenarios.Wait, that will effectively put you out of action for months.

Lee has pitched one game this year. He threw 7 innings, 3 hits and 8 strikeouts and 0.00 ERA. Sure, he wouldn’t make a difference. Trading him was stupid.

C’mon Iggles, please don’t compare running out on a baseball field to running out on a NASCAR track. I hope I don’t need to explain the difference to you. tcole58, come up with a more creative alias than using Trent Cole and his number; baseball games are not about protection of players, entertainment is EXACTLY what games are about. jimmy mac, you’re my boy.

Getting tasered is just a natural consequence of being a disrespectful a$$. People these days have not heard the word no enough or something. Tasered, hell when I got home from that game even if I was in my 20’s I would have caught a whoopin from my old man. You never embarrass your family and insult them with this kind of display. The whole televised nation got to witness failed parenting oh hell I wouldn’t have seen free air for months.

2nd It shows that there is no sense of the sacred honor or specialness that goes on between the white lines. I mean if you ever saw field of dreams it sort of spells out the kind of privilege it is to have the honor of wearing that uniform and playing on that field. A true fan of any sport respects the game way too much to do something like this. If you are not invited on the field or are not a player or ref/umpire/official/ect… you don’t spoil sacred ground like that. No it’s not a church but it should be respected just under that.

Poor parenting, the extreme overexposure of “normal” people in reality television and on YouTube makes a lot of people crave the spotlight. We’re all caught in the eye of the perfect storm of idiocy.

btc24, I agree the game itself is entertainment. But someone running on the field is about player safety. Monica Seles ring a bell? No one stopped that dude and she got a shaft in her back. That’s the problem ya don’t know who to trust anymore. It could be just a clown in ugly shorts or some nut. As far as my alias. I was never the flashy type, just get the job done and move on. So I stayed simple. He’s been my fav for awhile. I didn’t know being creative was so important on here. But I’m working on it and trying to be cool. How bout btc25. What do ya think?
