On his Yardbarker blog, former Eagles and now Redskins quarterback Donovan McNabb announced that quite a few current Eagles will be at his Kids Football Clinic at the Memorial Sports Complex in Marlton, NJ on June 12th.
Former Eagles running back Brian Westbrook will be there.¬† There’s no telling which team he will have signed with by that time. A couple of the offensive linemen, center Jamaal Jackson and guard Todd Herremans, who blocked for McNabb during his time with the Eagles, will be in attendance.
Current starting wide receiver Jeremy Maclin and slot receiver Jason Avant will be there.   Strong safety Quintin Mikell will be there as will the current Eagles backup quarterback Michael Vick.
Former Eagles Bobby Taylor and Chad Lewis are also planning on making appearances.
Add to this group a bunch of Washington Redskins whom McNabb promises to bring along with him and you have a long list of NFL players in attendance.
There’s nothing unusual about this.¬† NFL players help other NFL players with the charities whether they are teammates are not.
Some might try to tell that you can read something into who’s there and who’s not there but most of the time that has nothing to do with anything but guy’s schedules.¬† Quite a few players are traveling or doing other things with their families during this time off from football.
Let’s see. Maclin, Avant. Mmmm. Why no DeSean. And I thought you were the “bigger” man Donavan!! What a joke.
