Shooting Occurred After Vick Birthday Party, But His Involvement Is Unknown

Eagles backup quarterback Michael Vick had a birthday party last night in Virginia Beach, Virginia and according to ProFootballTalk.com a co-defendent of Vick’s, Quanis Phillips, was shot after having an altercation with Vick.

Phillips was reportedly shot at 2:10am outside the building where the party occurred.

According to CSNPhilly.com, Vick’s attorney Larry Woodward says the Eagles quarterback wasn’t involved in the shooting because he had the left the scene of the incident earlier in the evening. I hope he indeed left before the shooting occurred because being involved in a shooting could jeopardize Vick’s probation and his standing in the National Football League.

Phillips initially refused to be treated for the non-life threatening wounds but he changed his mind and decided to be treated at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital.

Here’s how the story goes in a Hampton Roads newspaper:

“But the story goes that Quanis threatened to smash birthday cake in Vick’s face, or that he actually smashed the cake in Vick’s face.

Another version is that someone smashed cake in Quanis’ face — or threatened to smash it in his face.

Anyway, the confrontation moved outside — where I’m told there were several still cameras and video cameras.

Cooler heads did NOT prevail, and ‘Q’ was shot in the shopping center parking lot.

It is unclear whether Vick was still around at the time of the shooting, but he was definitely not there when police arrived.”

If there were still cameras and video cameras on the scene, that means there are pictures and evidence of what happened.  If there are pictures we will evidentually find out what happened last night and whether Michael Vick had anything to do with the shooting.

Its time for the Eagles to release the All Madden QB. This proves he isnt that smart and that he isnt hanging out with the best people. This sure sounds like something a young Allen Iverson would do. Just get rid of him already and sign Garcia to hold the clipboard. Vick isnt a accurate passer and isnt that what you need when you throw the ball 70% of the time. This is probly a blessing in the sky now the Eagles have a reason to get rid of him.

They only signed him to trade him this year and that blew up in there face. Everyone around the league knows he isnt a good QB thats why no one traded for him. When you look at teams like the Bills, Browns, Cards and Raiders and there Qb situations and you see that they didnt even make an offer for Vick shows how much the League thinks of him.

The Eagles should be proud of their association with Michael Vick. Given “his second chance” that everybody cried for, Vick wascompelled to have a birthday party at a club where people get shot (glad to see he’s loyal to his old friends) rather than stay home and away from his past street thug lifestyle.
