Eagles sign WR Riley Cooper

The Philadelphia Eagles have only two unsigned draft picks remaining with training camp just weeks away. Today, they have announced that fifth-round pick Riley Cooper has signed a four-year deal.

Cooper is a 6′ 2″, 222-lb. WR out of the University of Florida.

The Eagles will now turn their attention to their remaining unsigned draft picks. That would be DE Brandon Graham and FS Nate Allen. Hopefully, they can get everyone on board by the start of training camp.

I’ll say it first. Sooper Cooper will be one of the top 3 rookie receivers by the time the season is over. He will replace Baskett as the #4 WR and beast it up in the red zone O.

I think Cooper will mak an impact as well as the 4th WR & Special Teams..
I think he beats out H Baskett and is on the field more than Baskett by October
I am concerned about Signing FS N Allen who could down as one of the higester 2nd Rd picks in the History of the NFL and definitely more than the Eagles are used to paying in the 2nd Rd..
He and his agent have so much leverage over the Eagles Front Office as far as a compensation package.. (especially when AR and other coaches state publicy that he is the “Starter” going into camp… may come back to haunt them as far as the amount of $$$$ on his initial Rookie deal)
I also think it’s more imprortant to have him in by Day #1 at camp for he and the other DB’s need as much time together as possible on the field, with coaches for this revamped Secondary…
Graham will be fine even he comes in a week late.. I am not too concerned about him picking up the schemes on getting on the field to make plays.
A Nate Allen signing is critical for this Defense moving forward…A protracted holdout by him and his agent will be very detrimental to his abilitiy to contribute in his Rookie season as well as getting this Secondary up to speed with new Coach D Jauon & DC McDermott…

Its ashame he will be a bust cause Andy Reid will not bring out his full potential. He prefers the undersized skinny WR’s. He would be a beast with the Saints

I was pissed last year when the Eagles traded pix w/ the GMen and NY took Ramses Barden, who will this year no doubt move up the depth chart because of injury. Barden is a BIG WR who’s got decent hands and isn’t afraid to go up and get a ball. I hope Cooper can make up for that somewhat.
