Rollins hurt again, this time it’s a bruised foot

With all the injuries the Philadelphia Phillies have endured this season, they really needed SS Jimmy Rollins to put his injuries behind him and help pull the offense along while Chase Utley is shelved.

Well, this is a good news-bad news situation. The bad news is that Rollins is hurt again. He was limping throughout today’s win against the Colorado Rockies. But, the good news, according to MLB.com’s Todd Zolecki, is that the X-rays were negative.

“Jimmy Rollins has a bruised left foot. X-rays were negative. But was definitely limping throughout the game,” Zolecki tweets.

The diagnosis is a foot contusion. At this point, we don’t know if he’ll need a day or two off, or if he’ll require a trip to the DL. It doesn’t sound like anything DL-worthy, but you know how the Phillies can be. “It’s just some tightness….” then the next day the dude goes to the 60-day DL.

We’ll keep an eye on it, but hopefully it isn’t a big deal.
