Brown shines in MLB debut

You may or may not have heard that the Philadelphia Phillies had to call up Domonic Brown because Shane Victorino was sent to the DL with an oblique issue. Well, tonight he made his MLB debut in right field batting sixth in the lineup against the mighty Arizona Diamondbacks.

In his first ever at-bat in a Major League uniform, he ripped a double high off the wall and scored Jayson Werth. Not bad. He would later come around to score. One at-bat, one hit, one RBI one run scored. We expected a little more, but this will do for now.

He later scorched a ball to right field for another hit. He’d score again. And if you didn’t see the game, this kid is lightning around the bases. Long and rangy, this kid can fly.

But he wasn’t done, he hit a sac fly later in the game, helping to give Roy Halladay a nice cushion (not that Halladay needed it. He was dealing). Brown went 2-for-3 with two RBI’s and two runs scored. It’s safe to say that he’ll do this in every game of his career without fail. Ever.

Not to go unnoticed, the Phillies managed to win their seventh straight tonight. The Braves won too, which means the Phils are still 3.5 games back in the NL East.

We’ll see what this kid ends up doing over the course of several games, but you had to like the start.
