Eagles Get In Quick Morning Practice Before Tonight’s Flight Night

Andy Reid has the Eagles going through a Saturday-like practice this morning.  They’re treating tonight’s Flight Night workout at the Lincoln Financial Center as if it’s a game.  This gives the youngsters another chance to see what it’s like to prepare for a regular season game.

How serious can you take a workout in which they have the offensive and defensive linemen catching punts?  The big boys were having big fun but don’t expect to see that in a game.

The crowd of fans is very small and there aren’t many media members here.

Injured Pro Bowlers DeSean Jackson and Asante Samuel worked out the side.  They strided out some forty-yard dashes.  I’m sure Reid isn’t in any type of hurry to get these guys back out there.  We used to call guys who are doing what they’re doing the “milk men” because they’re milking these injuries for all their worth.

Jeremy Maclin got some running in earlier today before practice.  Todd Herremans still has a bit of soreness in his foot.

He said tight end Cornelius Ingram is still working his way back and gaining confidence in his knee.  I agree because he still hasn’t gotten back to where he was which is understandable.  Like Bradley, this young man is just a year away from his surgery.

It seems to take two years to get all the back to be a functional football player on the level the player was before the surgery.

On one play, Michael Vick hit wide receiver Kelley Washington with a slant route and he ran into middle linebacker Stewart Bradley and collided with his knee.  Bradley got up and flexed his knee a little bit.  It was a close one.

The session went a little over an hour.

Tonight at Flight Night they’ll get in a real workout.

I just hope we can avoid any kind of major injury to this team tonight. Just think last year at this same event we lost Bradly…just think of what our defense would have been like if he was able to play…..

A couple of injuries to report from the NFL

Denver Broncos DE – E Dumervil tore a “pectoral muscle” bad that will require surgery, he will most likely be lost for the 2010 Season according to reports…
Green Bay Packers S – A Bigby has a severe ankle injury and draft pick Morgan BUrnett (who I liked in the draft) is practicing with the # 1 Defense
Broncos RB’s – both C Buckhalter and K MOreno have leg/knee injuries
NY Giants WR – H Nicks has hyperextended knee (similar to Maclin) and is out for 7-10 days

that’s it for now

ChrisS, the risk of injury tonight is no more than it is at lehigh. Practice is practice wherever it takes place. Marlin Jackson lost for the season at OTAs. Maclin hyperextended knee with no contact a couple days ago. Desean Jackson’s back, Samuel is banged up all at lehigh. Don’t be so superstitious that you leave reality. The point is guys can get hurt at anytime. It was unfortunate of what happened to Bradley (non-contact injury) but they could just as easily get hurt at Lehigh.

funny you say that, I was acutally having trouble posting. Did anyone else notice that the site changed a bit – under the ‘most recent’ tab (top right of page), ‘opinions’ doesn’t exist anymore and further down in the same column, there’s no spot to sign in anymore. I really had nothing to post about anyways, but it took a while to occur to me that you can login under the posts…. this page….. always something

Ha, only slightly. I think we need to rise above using a label for an opressed portion of the world’s population in place of the word ‘bad’ or ‘dumb’. Call me pc or whatever, but that’s what I believe…

I heard Kolb was picked multiple times during flightnight

no one told the plane it was clear to fly….this guy Kolb has this constant urge to complete passes to the guys in the opposite jersey.
