McNabb Should Shut Up & Stop Crying About His Time In Philadelphia

Would somebody please tell former Eagles quarterback and current Washington Redskin Donovan McNabb to stop talking about the Eagles and his time in Philadelphia?   Donovan shut up, you’re making yourself look and sound like a fool.

This is like the dude who has his girlfriend kick him to the curb, so he gets a new girlfriend but won’t stop talking about the girl who ditched him.  Move on dude, move on.

Let it go, McNabb.  Stop crying about spilled milk.  I don’t feel sorry for you and nobody should.  You look like a crybaby.  It isn’t time to be digging up all of the nonsense which happened over the years.

In an interview with GQ magazine, McNabb dug up every skeleton he could think of during his time with the Eagles.

“It went all the way back to the T.O. situation,” McNabb told GQ. “It went back to us not winning big games, me being criticized for whatever, leadership, whatever it may be, and how no one in the organization ever stepped up and said anything. They’ll say something to you in the building, but not publicly. My feeling was, ‘I’m out here getting cut up, where are you? I’m always defending and helping you guys, but where’s that support?’ I thought it was beneficial, because you can sit there and tell somebody you truly love them, you’re a big fan, your family loves you, but what about when we’re over here in the hot seat, where are you now?”

You’re showing everybody why the Eagles shipped you out of here.  How do you think your Washington fans feel when they read about their quarterback continuing to talk about his time in Philadelphia?  It’ll make them start to think that they made a mistake in bringing to town.  Let it go, dude.

You’re not going to get a prize for doing all of this crying.  You should be focused on getting healthy and preparing to lead the Redskins to the playoffs.  If you do that, people will take notice but otherwise, nobody cares about your tears.

Yes, the Eagles front office may not have been eager to offer public support for you every time you were criticized, but they did pay you well over $100 million dollars when you played for the Eagles.

McNabb should stop answering questions about Philadelphia.  Tell the reporters who ask these questions, that it’s over and you’re not going to talk about it.

I do think some of the criticism launched at him during his time here was unfair, like the rumor of him throwing up at the Super Bowl.  Lousy journalism is the only reason that this rumor continues.

How could he have thrown up at the Super Bowl but nobody has any pictures of it?  There are a “million” cameras aimed at the field during the Super Bowl and most of them are aimed at the quarterback, yet he threw up and nobody got a picture of it.  This claim is as bad as McNabb’s crying.

He did get the wind knocked out of him because the offensive line got their butts kicked, especially center Hank “Honey Buns” Fraley.

“I got hit and dumped on my face a couple of times . . . we lost Todd Pinkston . . . we all were gassed, and there were a couple of times in the game where I got hit either by [Tedy] Bruschi or by [Richard] Seymour, I had grass in my helmet, and maybe I lost my wind a little bit, but nothing to the point where I would come out of the game,” McNabb told GQ magazine during his interview.

I think McNabb, Andy Reid and the entire offense was responsible for not running the two-minute offense properly in the 4th quarter of the Super Bowl.  We all know that the Eagles were taking too much time to send the plays in and McNabb could barely talk in the huddle.

I think McNabb made approx $140-150 million in Salary during his career with the Eagles.
He should take the high road and be thankful that he was given the opportunity to be a Starter in the NFL
I will state this for the last time, McNabb, overall is a good NFL QB, but not a HOF, (unless he wins big the next 2-3 years which I don’t see happening). McNabb was the best QB in Eagles Franchise history,
but again, that does not mean he is a HOF… The HOF is for the best of the best and winners.. and for all the passing yardage,TD’s,low Int’s %, the fact remains that McNabb was 1-5 in the the biggest games of His career and the Eagle Franchise. That my friends, is not the body of work of a winner/leader who is HOF material… In fact McNabb’s overall record since 2004 is slighty above .a 500 winning % which again is not HOF worthy.. I wish him well with the Redksins, but it was time for him & the Franchise to move on and I am excited about the direction the Eagles are now moving in.
Let’s go Eagles and enough about the past already…

I do agree McNabb needs to let it go but at the same time, when will the media stop asking him about it? G, seriously, you know this isn’t going to stop until the Eagles and Redskins play each other. You can’t expect all the talk to just go away when they haven’t played.

But here’s my question….. where is the article written by the Philly media when McNabb says he doesn’t feel like he was unappreciated in Philly? You guys only come out to write the articles when someone says something against Philly. But when he was saying he felt that the fans appreciated him and he loved playing here, where was that article?

You in the media put out there what you want and then skew it to how you feel.

Paulman, we all know how you feel. You freely express your disdain for McNabb at every chance you get. Fortunately for him it doesn’t matter whether you believe he’s a HOF QB.

The Eagles were 1-5 in the biggest games. Where was the defense in these games? How many turnovers? How many game changing stops? For a team that had pride in it’s defense they came up just as short as McNabb. Did McNabb come up short? Yes. So did everyone else.

i mean i could make excuses for every 1 of the nfc chip games or the sb from westbrook being out to poor coaching u name it
its sad because im starting to like kolb but some of the fans the things u say the dbl standards it makes it hard to root for the guy

I don’t care if you hate or obsess over Donovan McNabb, hate or obsess over Andy Reid, TO, Banner, Lurie…etc…. but if you think we should expect anything more from the media than to harp on the Eagles, the trade, the past, the BS that really only existed in the media itself…. well…. Bottom line is that McNabb is showing that his ego still has a big boo boo. The man was given 11 years and over 100 mil. and it didn’t work out. It’s over, and I for one hope he has fun in DC, but I’ll be cheering full fledge when he gets sacked, intercepted or otherwise dominated by the Eagles D and rooting against Washington with all my might. He was an Eagle. There were some great times. I also liked nirvana, super nintendo and watching John Kruk try to run bases. I used to love watching new episodes of Seinfield, but it’s freakin 2010 and I’m interested in the current Philadelphia Eagles team now.

Yes Scorpion,
The entire Eagles teams came up short in those Big Games which is why I don’t think any of them
are HOF material… Not Coach Reid, Not McNabb, Not Westbrook,
The only players that I think are HOF worthy from the Eagles from the last 15 years or so
would be Safety B Dawkins and maybe Kicker D Akers if he continues to have another strong 3-4 Seaons and even Dawkins has some poor games in the Playoffs
When you are the face of the Franchise, and the Leader & QB of the offense and having the largest Contract in teams history, then taking the blame for failing is part of the deal. I have always admired
McNabbs Skill,Work Ethic,Athleticism and there is no doubt that he is the best QB ever to put on an Eagle uniform, but his Leadership, Rising up to the occasion in big moments, “Willing” his team to win has never been his strengths and his “cavalier” attitude with laughs & giggles on the sidelines while his team is playing poorly just never did sit that well with me….

Yep. You hit the nail on the head philly will. Philadelphians will be negative no matter what. In other news, i heard a rumor about a sandwich involving dairy with meat. I also heard about a building downtown that supposedly has a statue with a man on top of it.

BirdoBeamen…. best article ever? Why because he said something bad about McNabb? Ummm ok.

G is just going over the top the other way because everyone always gets on him because of how he always defends McNabb. But once again, where was the article when McNabb said he loved it here and he never felt unappreciated? You won’t find that in many places in the Philly media. But when he says something that comes across as whining on him saying some bad about Philly, here come all the “journalists”. I said it before and I’ll say it again, the Philly sports media are jokes and hypocrites….. 98% of them.

Maclin is soft and needs to be traded
Andy Reid will NEVER will a superbowl as a head coach
Nate Allen is the new sean considine and a bum and will get ran over again and again
Graham is over rated like how all philly fans make their rookies out to be
Michael Dick is trash

Andy Reid is the biggest moron of a coach. He will cut Chad Hall when he’s returning kicks, catching the ball well and playing a running back but will keep Quentin Dempshit after a bonehead play in the last game? I hate the eagles. I cant wait until they play my texans. Show you guys what a real football team looks like.

G has always been fair to everyone on the team and this is the first time and right fully so because mcnabb is talking about us. But the media sturs these things up… As many times as he has taken the high road i dont care if hes crying now. his 100 million times taking the high road to his crying maybe 5 times in his career. I believe he has the the right to say what he wants. But i am focused on the new eagles and mcnabb is still my boy. Wish him luck but the eagles shall dominate him

@ dawkplex1221 You are exactly right. The media in this town dwell on stupid things. They forget the good and replay the bad over and over. Just like we have the right to say what we want, he has the right to say what he wants. Now if you’re going to criticize him for it, that’s fine, but be consistent and point out the times that he didn’t respond in a negative way when he could. The media in this town doesn’t believe in consistency. Desperate to sell papers and online subscriptions and headlines like this on this site is an effort to get more and more people here in hopes of getting a better job in the media.

WellWellWell- Ryan and Slaton had a total of 1300 yards from scrimage last year which isnt bad. Im not including what chris brown had either. We had a better ranked defense than the eagles did last year as well. we get better and better each year we were 9-7 last year and we play in a division with the colts. Line up the eagles players vs our players and tell me who you would take?

Desean or Andre Johnson? if you say desean you are a fool

kolb or Matt Schaub? Matt had a better QB ranking than Mcnabb last year. and DOMINATED the probowl

Brian Cushing or Stewart Bradley? ill take the rookie of the year

we will have a better record than the eagles this year.

I don’t understand the negative feelings of other eagle fans about McNabb. I have never commented on here before, but I have read most of your posts Paul and to say you have a bias opinion of McNabb would be giving you credit. You think you know the criteria of a HOF quarterback, you are oblivious. It takes a whole team to win a Superbowl not just a quarterback, if he plays 4 more years in the league he is a first ballot hall of fame quarterback. Project 3300 yards and 4 more 20 td seasons(not a stretch at all) and his numbers alone get in him in on the first ballot. To take it a step further he is 8th all time for playoff wins and still got a few good years left. Not winning a superbowl doesn’t mean you are not a HOF quarterback.
Dan Marino
Jim Kelly
Waren Moon
Fran Tarkenton
Dan Fouts
All HOF quarterbacks none of which Have won a Superbowl, and His numbers already exceed Kelly’s, soon will exceed Fout’s and possibly catch Tarketon before he is done.

4 TD passes in one quarter on a broken foot alone should qualify him. But we have already established that he has been the most prolific QB in eagles history. That includes HOF QBs Norm Van Brocklin, Sonny Jurgenson, and yes future HOF QB Randall Cunningham (how about that one “Randall haters”), so there really is no reason why he should’nt be considered for the Hall of Fame. In fact if he continues to play at the same level, and the Redskins get those Hoggs working for him, he will definitely be a strong candidate.
I think the Philly fans saw the talent that the man had, branded him a Superman and expected him to take the team to the Superbowl on his back. (he almost did it). He made a few mistakes, lost the SuperBowl (he was only human folks), was crucified and run out of town.

VR- OK I’ll give you Johnson over DJax because I-personally- like a bigger WR and Jackson is Aces. By the time Kolb has as many years under his belt as Schaub I’ll still be saying Kolb. I’ll take the MLB who DOESNT use steroids thank you very much. Schaub needs Jackson, not the other way around. You’re a better running team than the Eagels, so is just about everyone no great victory there and the Texans have been status quo for most of their entire existance. Break .500 for 2 consecutive years, make the playoffs and win a game and we’ve played in-contestdly (sic) the most difficult division in the entire NFL for years..F the Colts! It’s like saying the 49ers are great because of their division.
