Dunlap to start against Falcons

Well this isn’t good, even if it was expected. As much as I have ragged on Jason Peters since he’s come to Philadelphia, that doesn’t mean that I want King Dunlap playing instead. But, that’s what Andy Reid said is going to happen.

“He had a couple plays that he would have liked to have back,” Reid said Wednesday. “But the rest of it I thought he did a good job with. And I’m sure he’ll tell you the same thing — there are some things that he’ll work on this week. It will be good for him to have some practice here. He didn’t have a chance to get out there and practice with the ones, so he’ll get in and have that opportunity and see how he does.”

Ugh. You think Kevin Kolb was skittish before? Wait until he gets going with Dunlap protecting his blind side. This offensive line can’t get any continuity going this season. Reid said he considered sliding Todd Herremans out to tackle, but ultimately chose Dunlap.

As for Peters, he has a torn meniscus and will have surgery Thursday to clean out the knee. Reid wouldn’t say how long he’ll be out, but I have a feeling it will beyond next week as well.

If Dunlap plays well, keep Juan Castillo.

The Eagles had a rookie tackle that was pancaking people in the preseason. Why isn’t he playing?

BSM, I believe you’re referring to Austin Howard who we’ve been screaming for since about..i dunno..week1. I think he has a back injury problem tho otherwise he’d be out there. Kid looked real good when he got his time in.

King Dunlap vs. John Abraham. I wonder who’s going to win that matchup.

WIth Herremans foot injuries the last 2 seasons, He is no longer a viable option out at Left Tackle..
He’s lost some of his quickness that he had when he was younger and would proably have a difficult time keeping up with the speed rushers.. The Eagles should line up TE Mills or FB Schmitt right next to Dunlpa to help him out from the get go..
Abraham is one of the best pass rushers when he’s healthy (which he has been so far this season)
He is about the Falcons only true legitimate pass rusher, so they need to limit his penetration
I hope Austin Howards is getting reps and is active for this game for I would like to see him play some and get some reps for I think he can compete for Starters position next year so lets get hime some experience now…

I would be surprised if Peters misses next week too…torn meniscus isn’t that big of a deal…especially when your making that much money

NO NO NO COME ON!!! Are you serious!! Queen Dunlap SUCKS!!! What is wrong with AR!! What happen to Austin Howard? They didnt have faith in this guy last year when they put (Todd Herramans) on the outside and he sure as hell didnt improve from last year as we as fans can see!! Why is he on the roster still???? He is just a tall SLACKER who AR just loves to keep around!!! Maybe he carries good conversations on the sideline or something lol!

I nthink DUnlap has improved a lot over the last year or 2.
He has many things to work on like using his hands and long arms to his advantage..
he needs to meet the rusher sooner and use his lower body more to stand them up and then use his wingspan to sustan the block.. I think he will surprise many with his play..
Will he get burned a couple of times, probably, but I tihnk he will do well overall but they will need to give him some help with TE/FB helping and chipping the DE Abraham
I think A Howard will beactice and maybe see some snaps also

I read somewhere that Howard is having back issues, as somebody indicated above. Make sure to get Kafka some snaps with the 1s, we may need him if Kolb gets knocked senseless. Not good.

Just DAMN
They are one more O Line injury away from a complete disaster and 11 games left

I have never seen a team sustain so many injuries this early

listen i can run laps around dunlap! LOL he sucks hands down!!! They should change his jersey name to ALREADYLAPPED around his ass! John Abraham is going to get #’s against him!! If I was KOLB or VICK or KAFKA i’ll roll to the right side of the O-Line every play!!!! TOO many injuries on the O-line but we go and get RB’s to help this team!!! COME ON!!!!!

Dunlap has no size on him!! His height makes his weight and his frame is slinder!!! He’s just not good!! I’ll try out either reggie wells or Herramans at the tackle position. The real thing that scares me about this team is the special teams! Its like Will Smith’s last album….. HORRIBLE!!!!!!

jroc, don’t we always seems to have guys who are just not the right size to play their position when compared to other guys around the league who play the same position? I mean Dunlap is too fricken tall to play tackle. The DE will just go under him because he cannot get low enough. Sad thing is, in his current body shape, I’m not sure which position would be ideal for him especially on the line. Lineman go under or bull rush him all day because he has no leverage.

I think Dunlap could make a better DE or TE with his body type…
Also who is Will Smith…

Yeah Paulman, but he would have to drop some weight to play those positions. He’s just awkward at his current size. Are you kidding about Will Smith? If you aren’t, none other than the Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

This blows my mind. Why isn’t Herremans playing Left tackle, Max Jean or Reggie Wells playing left guard, Mcglynn at center, Max Jean or Reggie Wells at RG and Justice at RT. Instead, Andy has King Dunlap who looks like a 3rd string player starting against All Pro John Abraham. C’mon Andy, think for a second

scrap – cause Herramans has a weak ankle. If he reinjures it – much more likely to happen with him at tackle, than he may be out for a while. Losing him is more a problem than having a weaker LT….
