Vick Says He’s Feeling 100% After Eagles Monday Workout

Nobody in the media saw the Eagles workout today but Michael Vick says he’s 100% and his teammates says he was out there throwing the ball and running around like the player they’ve come to know.

The Eagles quarterback and his teammates are eager to get going again with their season.  They’re very confident they can make the 2010 season a good one.

“We feel good about our position”, Vick told a group of reporters after practice. “But our focus is to take it one game at a time, win as many games as we can throughout the next nine, and just play good football.”

“We feel good right now”, LeSean McCoy said. “There were a lot of games we could have won that we let away. We stayed in a good situation…..  We have to continue to play our game and get better each week and go out and just finish. Starting well and finishing teams.”

“We’re sitting in a good spot”. said tight end Brent Celek. “We really would have liked to win that last game, but we’re still sitting good. We control our own destiny here on out. If we continue to play well, we’ll be alright.”

The Birds workout was after having the week off following their loss to the Titans.  They’ll have another day off tomorrow, then the group will get back together on Wednesday and continue getting ready for the Indianapolis Colts.

Vick had been working out during the break, getting treatment and throwing the football quite a bit.  He says the workouts have him feeling 100%.  “It was probably over this weekend, getting treatment all of last week”, the signal caller said. “Just going out, throwing, and moving around, getting movement back. It felt great today.”

Even though he’s feeling great, Vick will be wearing additional padding to protect his ribs during this Sunday’s game.

“We’ve got some extra padding that we’ll wear, but I’m confident that I can take a hit”, Vick told the members of the media today.  “I can’t play the game worried about getting hit or not being able to play the way I like to play.”

Why is it that I think Vick is going to continue with his daredevil style of play?  He’s got to learn to play a safer brand of ball or you can’t depend on him to be healthy week in and week out.

It sounds like he wants to change to be more careful, but we’ll have to wait and see.

“I’ll definitely be smarter when running with the football”, Vick said. “Try to get down, if not, who knows, [there’s] no telling what I’ll do. I can’t predetermine what I’m going to do when I play, I just know I have to play smarter and be conscious of what’s going on out there and try to protect myself.”

Good news for the birds. He gives us the best chance to win. He definately needs to be smart when running, otherwise he is likely to be injured again.

Good article G. I can’t wait to see Mike Vick out there Sunday. I think he will shred the Indianapolis Defense. I really do…And then if we beat the Colts, that will automatically put us in discussion as one of the best teams in the league with NO QUESTIONS ASKED. Mike has to be Mike. I understand he has to be more careful, which I hope he will be. But he has to keep running. It’s what makes him the most dynamic Quarterback in the history of the game.

1st play of the game, I can see it now.
“Michael Vick lines up behind center, 3 Recievers, McCoy in the backfield…He takes the snap, Michael Vick rolls out to the left…He is looking, he is looking….Desean Jackson TOUCHDOWN! Michael Vick on his 1st play in his 1st game back from injury throws a 73-yard bomb to Desean Jackson to put the Eagles up by a touchdown!”

Hope he’s smart going forward..pick up the yards then slide or get down. I don not want to see babyarm again,,,Vick? You hear us? Stay on the field so we can maximize this year and get a shot in the playoffs in an average NFC.

this is going to be the beginning of a great winter of Football…Go Vick…Go Eagles

I am still concerned about Vick’s history of gripping and throwing the football well in colder weather.
His stats of playing outdoors in temps of 40 Degrees or less is horrible..MAybe Baby-armed Kolb will be needed for the stretch run after all…

Paul…Don’t be concerned..enjoy…the old Vick was before he had 3 years away to reflect….He will continue to dazzle but use his maturity and be more careful with the ball….Vick will perform in the bright light this Sunday…..WATCH!!!

The Eagles OT’s and CB’s will be the crtical players for this upcoming game versus the COlts
Can Justice and Peters/Dunlap block both Mathis/Freeney to allow Vick enough time in the pocket
and get the ball off to his playmakers and Defensively, can Patterson/Samuel/Hanson stay with
the Colt Recievers and knock them off their routes and hit them around a little bit, they will need to get at least 2 Int’s off Manning to have a shot….

if anone watched the game last night, the colts are a very beatable team. I was not as impressed with them as much as i was unimpressed by the texans. The texans looked flat and not into the game for the first half. I see Vick being able to counter the pass rush with his mobility. Matt Schaub was ocmpletely ineffective with the pocket collapsing and we all know Vick has the ability to get and make something happen. Schaub had receivers running open all night. Arian foster had a pretty decent game but definitely could have blown up if he got the ball more. Lets hope McCoy comes to play also and we will steam roll these guys.

If OT’s play well versus Freeney & Mathis
Vick and Kolb should light that COlt Secondary up and McCoy/HArrison should also be able to run the ball effectively.. Watch for TE Celek/WR Avant to have a big games for the middle of the field should be open most of the game as the Colts will play a deep Cover 2 and sometimes a Cover 3 to protect them from the deep speed/threat of D-Jax/Maclin…

Interceptions are not needed in any game…Solid defensive play is the key! Defense makes stops when needed and force the colts to punt, we have a shot! Stop with the history of Vick…We are watching Mike Vick 2.0, different player…
