Eagles Have Nothing But Good Things To Say About McNabb

None of the Eagles were interesting in saying anything negative about Donovan McNabb as they prepare for a Monday Night NFC East showdown with the Redskins.  Head coach Andy Reid has nothing but good things to say about McNabb.

Nobody would talk about Mike Shanahan’s comments about McNabb being unable to run the two-minute drill because of the team’s terminology or his lack of cardiovascular conditioning.

Over and over again as Andy Reid repeated something he’s said in the past. Reid said McNabb is the best quarterback in Eagles history.

“Listen, I don’t know all that,” Reid told the reporters. “He was phenomenal here. So I don’t know about all that. I can’t waste my time on that. We’re focused on the Washington Redskins and Donovan’s a part of that at the quarterback position; he’s a big part of that. So you know I’m not checking out all of that stuff. I’m looking at him as a player and ways that we can score touchdowns and not allow them to score touchdowns. I mean, that’s what we do. So they have a good football team. He has a great supporting cast and that defense flies around and makes plays, and they’re physical and so on.”

Michael Vick said he has no idea what’s going on down in Washington regarding McNabb and didn’t understand why he was benched.  He went on to say that he’s not focused on McNabb but he is thinking about beating the Redskins.

Brent Celek said McNabb is a great quarterback and will be tough for the Eagles defense to stop.  Mike Patterson said the Birds know that beating McNabb and the Eagles won’t be easy.

Quintin Mikell said they’re expecting McNabb to be at his best and Dimitri Patterson says he’s going to be ready for McNabb to come after him because of his inexperience.

The biggest game of the year for the Eagles and the Redksins,
The Winner is on a good path to start the 2nd half of the Season on a positive note and will secure
2nd place in the NFC East and keep in striking distance of the Giants.
The loser of this game will now be in 3rd Place in the NFC East and have a tough uphill battle to make it in the Playoffs even as a Wild-Card team..
This game is a rivalry, a stage for both McNAbb and Vick and bottom line, is probably as close to a
“playoff type of game” as you will get in the middle of the Season.. but looking around the NFC this year it appears the NFC South with the Falcons,Saints and even the Buc will sureley get 1 WIldcard team and then there is the NFC North with the Packers,Bears and maybe the Vikings still in it..)
Eagles have 5 NFC East Division games left and probably need to win them all if they want 1st place in the NFC East this year.. Each Division loss is like 2 steps back because of falling behind teams that it gets tougher and tougher to overtake them when you lose head to head against them)
Eagles Win 23-16..

The Eagles and Andy Reid have more important things to do than get involved in this controversy

That is McNabb and Shanahan’s problem

What’s to say? “He used to play here, now he plays there and we have to beat him”

The Wash – Phil game is usually close. But I am predicting that the Eagles will blow out the Redskins. The defense finally has their best personel on the field. I know Nate Allen is out but I like Coleman at safety against NFC East opponents.

Vick can’t be stopped. The Eagles scored on 6 of their first 8 posessions against the Colts. One Mistake by McD and the team will loose confidence in him because the coach already has.

Last week’s prediction was 31-24 birds. This week it will be 27-13 Eagles.

PS – Throw that prediction out if McDermott does not take out Bradley to cover the TE. He stinks in down field coverage.

The key to an Eagles win is 3rd downs…… In other words (STOP CHRIS COOLEY) That guy has killed us in previous games and basically throughout his career…. That means Bradley has to be pulled out on 3rd downs and put in one of the speedy LB’s on the field…. Watch out for the screen plays and the infamous Shanahan Bootleg PA….. No Ellis Hobbs thats a plus for the birds… I say we blow them out this time 38-9 go birdz!!!!!!!!!!!!

This guy Torain we gotta watch for him…. Now we know what to expect from him…. We shut there Wr. down last game except for that deep ball Donnavan threw to Armstrong which was B>S….
Dixon over Bunkley is a must….. DEMAND…….Mcdermott should exercise that option asap……(More frequently) Limit penalties especially on the defensive side,,,,,,

Blitz Mcnabb….. not a 8 man blitz because he’ll just dump it to the flats and kill us… More like a 5 man blitz or maybe six man and stop dropping the DE into coverage (please)……. Mcnabb burnt us the first game when he saw openings in the front line…… Mcnabb will have a horrible game like the first time, We’ll be 6-3 go Birdz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Torrain/Portis are still listed as “Questionable” for playing this week.
Watch for RB Keiland WIlliams to get a lot of Snaps – He’s 5-11″ and 225 lbs back out of LSU.
I would not be surprised is Eagles use LB Clayton to cover and run with the TE’s (Cooley/Davis)
The only big plays I see from the Redskins would be big games from their TE’s and or big scrambles runs by McNabb.. Control these and I don’t see the Redskins scoring more than 13-16 points..

uhh..i see Philly wing in a battle..and i see the score getting a bit more liberal around the the middle of the third quarter.I do believe on our first drive against them in weekl 4, we got to there 2 before Superman who rocks tha 7 on his chest got hurt..by having landry spy him like week four, i see a gianormous game for DeSean and Maclin…and also with that safety humping Vicks leg i see McCoy getting a Long ass TD off the screen..i cant wait…

Eagles 37 Redskins 16

Wow! I expected to find a bunch of Mcnabb haters on this thread. But I guess I shouldn’t be surprized tha t the you guys are always more informed and less bias that the media hacks. Mcnabb seems to have jumped from the “fire to the frying pan” in regards to the issues he has to deal with in his QB career. Through it all he has shown a great deal of character dispite the media hounds call for him to lash out at his coaches, (and thereby giving them more red meat to grind out negative articles about him). I expect Mcnabb to do what he has always done and do his talking on the field.
He will excell as he always has, inspite of his atrocius offensive line blocking, subpar receivers dropped passes, and rediculous play calling by a patronage job holding offensive coodinator. This does not bode well for the Philadelphia Eagles. I expect the ultimate “Donovan McNabb Micheal Vick Quarterback Throwdown”. Get your popcorn ready!

They are no informed people here, plenty of biased people. You must be new. Welcome. Next time try to bring a bit more hate, call Andy a fat pig, say something nasty about Jeff Lurie and you will fit right in.

Sorry Anderson,

In my haste to leave for work, I mistakenly posted on the wrong thread. I meant to post in response to the Brian Mitchell article. You’re right about the people here.
