Penn State Must Follow Wisconsin’s Act Against Indiana

At halftime, when you look up at the scoreboard, and the score reads 38-10, panic starts to take over. But when you look up at the scoreboard when the final whistle blows and it reads 83-20, well, that’s when it’s time to leave the area and find a new home.

For the Indiana Hoosiers, that moment will live on with them for years to come. Their dreadful performance against Wisconsin last week was bound to stick with them throughout the week as the national media made a mockery of the 4-6 Hoosiers; however, for Penn State, that mockery could ultimately turn into revenge for Indiana.

Penn State is Indiana’s next opponent, and that beating given them by the Badgers could spell trouble for the Nittany Lions.

Of course, there are two different identities that Indiana could take on when they host Penn State this weekend. One of those is the aforementioned “team out for revenge” identity, which would cause Penn State the most trouble.

But the other possible identity for Indiana could be the “pack the bags up, let’s head home” identity, which would result in yet another beat down over Indiana, this time by Penn State.

So which identity will Indiana take on come Saturday afternoon?

In my opinion, they will come out fired up, especially since they are facing Penn State, a team that has won all 12 meetings since they first matched up in 1993.

They may not have the talent that Penn State possesses since they have a poor defense that surrenders 33.6 points per game (100th in the nation) and an offense that scores 26.8 points per game (62nd in the nation), but the game of college football isn’t always won through sheer talent.

12 straight losses to Penn State? A 82-20 beat down last week? A current four-game losing streak?

If that doesn’t supply enough motivation for Indiana when they head out of the tunnel of FedEx Field, the home of the NFL’s Washington Redskins, then I don’t know what will.

The Nittany Lions must be aware of this and will need to attack early before Indiana can get any rhythm going.

For Penn State, they are coming off a disappointing loss of their own to Ohio State, falling 38-14 after leading 14-3 at the half. With their 6-4 (3-3) record, Penn State must win their two remaining games if they want to make a quality bowl. If they lose their next two games, they might not even be selected to a bowl, and Joe Paterno will not get a chance to extend his record 24 bowl victories.

Penn State or Indiana? Who ya got?

Another typical Penn State Team and Season which they are simply an average Team and Program..
They cannot compete with the top teams in the Big 10 this year or in most yearsr and will continue to have Seasons of 8-4,7-5 records year after year. They have fallen into relative mediocrity in Football and even off the radar in Basketball . I never liked the move to the Big 10 to begin and they should have stayed in the Big East where most of their student population comes from, where their alumni, fans and recruits are all closer and have more of a connection…
This Football and Basketball programs will only continue to deteriorate as time goes on and especially when Coach PAterno retires..Why would a recruit from NJ/Conn/Eastern Pa/Ct/NY/MD
and want to go to Penn State where half their games are 500-1000 miles away. These recruits & families will want to see their kids play and are more likely go to programs in the Big East or even ACC schools which are closer..
One of Joe Paterno’s biggest mistakes was pushing for this (entry into the Big 10) and they simply don’t belong athletically and ruined the balance of power for College Football in the Northeast
