Haynesworth surrenders on simple assault charges

As expected, Washington Redskins (for now) defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth turned himself in to police Saturday morning on “road rage” charges. He is now being charged with simple assault.

This doesn’t come as a surprise because Haynesworth had said all along that he’d cooperate with police on this matter.

A man claims that he got into an exchange with Haynesworth on the parkway on February 2nd, and that Haynesworth eventually got out of his car at an intersection and punched him.

Haynesworth’s camp of course disputes this. They claim that the man recognized Albert and antagonized him in an effort to get “his 15 minutes of fame” and some money.

I can understand both sides and I could see either being the case. The truth is probably somewhere in between, but I wasn’t there so I don’t know. We’ll all find out together when Haynesworth has his March 31st court date.

Bottom line,
As a celebrtity/athelete (and even if your despised, which Albert is in the DC area), just don’t put yourself in a bad situation like that..
Let the other idiot pass you or whatever, but no sense making a big deal
and get out of the car and get into a fight with a person, that’s just stupid and jevenile and again goes to show what little Professionalism, Smarts and Maturity that Haynesworth has and even now at the age of 30…
The Eagles will have no interest what so ever in obtaining him…

Eagles actually staged the driver and set this case up in an effort to get Redskins to cut him. How do I know? B/c I am that guy. He didnt really punch me b/c I drove off as he approached my car. But Eagles didnt really want to give up a 5th round pick for him, so now they are getting him for free. Just wait and see, I did my part now its up to Lurie!
