Judge Nelson Seems To Be Taking The Players Side, So Far In Court Battle

So far according to reports coming out of the courtroom, Judge Susan Nelson seems to see things on the players side rather than that of the owners.

When the subject of the player’s irreparable harm charge came up as reason that a lockout should be ended, Judge Nelson said, “it “appears players have strong case”. That has to give the owners and their lawyer David Boies shiver.

If the players can prove that they will suffer irreparable harm if the lockout continues and they’re not allowed to continue playing football, then Judge Nelson would have reason to lift the lockout and the NFL would continue doing business as usual.

Were that to happen, the Birds would be able to trade Kevin Kolb for that first round draft pick.

According to Philly.com, the judge put pressure on Boies when he was arguing for letting the lockout stand because of the NFL’s anti-trust exemptions. She reportedly said, “I’m having a hard time understanding why the (anti-trust) exemption would protect a lockout,” after the players’ union has decertified.

I wouldn’t assume anything though because I’ve seen cases look like they were going to head one way, then all of a sudden they would turn back the other way.

Dear Judge,

Please lift the lockout. It has been SO long since the Eagles have had a bargaining chip as big as we do this offseason. It would be a downright shame to see this opportunity taken away from us, the Eagles faithful. If used properly, this “chip” could fix our o-line and our d-backfield all in one swoop. Pair that with the possible free agents that are chomping at the bit to play here with Vick, and you have yourself a championship caliber team.

PLEASE MAKE THEM LIFT IT!!!!!!!

I just want the lockout to end so the Eagles can trade Kolb and get draft picks. Maybe they can sign some players too.

Best not read too much into morning session. Owners did better in the afternoon. She clearly was trying to get the 2 sides to work it out before she rules.

There is no reason for the owners to move; they hold all the cards. But the lockout hurts far more than just players. Greed and control.

If no talks/negotiations are restarted soon or by May 1st.. then I would
if I were the Owners and the NFL Commish, would start having public invites and tryouts in every NFL City for any football players to tryout and move forward
with the NFL Calender and have late MAy/JUne OT’as with scheduled SUmmer Camp to plan to start the Season on schedule..and since there technically is no players union (since they chose to decertify) I would bet that many players would crss the lines to play (players coming off of injuries, older players who ddon’t have much playing time left and young players looking for their opportunities.. I bet you would see many current NFL players back by July and probably some that would not come back. but like all things in life, Time marches on and waitis for no one.. These players have a 4 year careers on average and if they want to sit out year and possibly jeopardize their career, than that’s their choise.. If they want to retur to play football and eanr a very good living while they can, they that should also be their choice..
