Everything Goes Wrong As Eagles Lose To Giants, 29-16

It’s amazing how quickly things can change in the NFL. Coming into the game it looked like the Giants, who have been pummeled by injuries since the lockout ended, didn’t have a chance and we expected the Eagles to run all over them.

After the game, it’s the Eagles who have been decimated by injuries after being stung with a very disappointing loss. For the second week in a row the “Dream Team” has lost a game which I thought they should have won. I’m not totally shocked by their early season struggles.

I don’t know whether Eagles Michael Vick is going to play next week or not, but truth of the matter is that after this game we don’t too much about Vick. I don’t know if he can stay healthy. Last week it was concussion this week it was a broken hand.

Afterward Vick was complaining about not getting any protection from the referees when he’s in the pocket.

I think he has a point but I still want to see him cut down on all of the runs and scrambles. He’s turning the ball over much too much.

Andy Reid had an awful day calling plays and making decisions. What exactly was he trying to do on the goalline and on that short yardage play?

Defensive coordinator Juan Castillo is blitzing the Giants on third down without giving his front four to get to him. The blitz has safety Kurt Coleman who isn’t much of a cover guy, trying to stay with Giants starting wide receiver, Victor Cruz. Guess who won the battle.

Coleman’s tackling today was poor at best. The entire Eagles defense had a terrible day trying to tackle. Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs had their way with the Birds defense by running through them with ease.

Bradshaw treated second-year safety Nate Allen like a toddler, by grabbing him and throwing him to the ground. Allen looked like a bug encountering an 18-wheeler out on 95. It was embarrassing.

We do know that moving linebacker Casey Matthews from middle linebacker to weakside linebacker isn’t a legitimate way to hide him. The Giants went after and had great results.

I see why Nmandi Asomugha has so few interceptions. He’s terrible when it comes to playing the ball in the air.

Absolutely, embarrassing & unacceptable loss! If anyone finds anything to defend on this team now, is an @$$#ole! This team has not improved from last year! Different year, same problems! Bad redzone offense & defense, undisciplined play on both sides of the ball, horrid O-line, horrid LB’s, horrid safeties, horrid play calling, & horrid coaching! Absolutely disgraceful! Vick hurt again! AGAIN! He should have not have been in there to begin with. I’ve have never seen a DF with this bad of ball skills, lack of plays & bad tackling, in my life! Stick a fork in them! This entire coaching staff needs to be fired!

Poor play by the Entire Defense, This is now 4 Home losses in the row dating back to the VIkings Debacle, Cowboys final and the PAcker Playoff loss.. and when you count the home losses to the Redskins and PAckers last year and a close win over the Texans, This Eagle team has not played all that well in the Linc for a while now, there is no more home-field mystique and visiting team are not intimidated to play there like they used to be at the old Vet..
I saw 2-3 players playing up to ther capability and talent on Defense
DE Cole, CB Samuel, DT Jenkins and DE BAbin and that’s about it
Asmo had a terrible game and simply has to learn to make plays on the ball with his hands.. On the 2nd TD PAss to Cruz which gave the Giants the lead, he was right there and turned to look for the reciever at the goal line instead of stepping/jumping up to make a play on the ball, then he mae a terrible missed tackle on Cruz’s 1st TD, just horrible out there, then on the screen pass to Bradshaw, he never came off his man to make an attempt at a tackle.. I hope this is a 1 game anomoly, but not very impressed with Asmo so far this season…
The LB’s were terrible as usual and way out of position on many delyed runs, screens or in short=pass coverage…
I was as a Sports Bar to watch the game which had other games on as well..I cannot see how this Eagle Defense slows down or prevents Teams with good Offense’s like the Saints,Texans,Patriots,Bills,Lions from putting 35 Points on this team… Interchangeable LB’s my ass, DC Jaun CAstillo should be fired tonight and go out and hire Tim Hauck to run this Defense who was the Titans DC the last few Seasons and has worked for FL Washburn for years..
Eagles will proabbly beat the 49ers & maybe Arizonza who have to travel east e east, but I do not see the Eagles beating the Redskins, BIlls, Cowboys, Pats,Jets,Bears with or without VIck unless they bring 1-2 New LB’s in, that are not even on this roster and chances are, it’s too late to even do this, for you bring in a new player, you have to allow for a few weeks to learn the system, and get up to spped and it may just be too late for that now..

Hey some of these philly journalist are just about Dopes.

Reid says the DE ran into Vicks hurt hand as Vick was trying to block his head, and the reporter says “Which hand was that?” What the…………….! these dopes, hell I would not want to talk to some of these guys either.

This game? I was pissed, during the game I stomped, I cursed, hell I even turned and watched 20 minutes of the SyFy channel. Bad , bad loss. Still in the end I believe in this team, I believe that the defense will in short order will be come scary dominating. They have communication issues guys not sure where there buddy will be for help.

We have been hear before, been down and out and we come back. I not sure about the super Bowl thing, but we will win out this season, make the playoffs and we will win this division.

Finally lets stop this diluting our past winning seasons with this Weak past Division crap, did anyone cry for us when the division was kicking our A_ _s twice a season when we .500, those division winners get a past? Really!

Anyway I’ve got no where to go, no other team to support, no changes will come now, so with that I most yeild to pulling for this team, and hoping the coaches will do the right thing. I believe that this team will savage future opponents.

Well thats it for me Love and Hate in the very same post, amazing!

As always “LONG LIVE THE EAGLES”

One last thing that pisses me off is that the Eagles gave life back into the Giants Team who could have been knocked down and knocked out.. Now look at the NFC and see who the Eagles have to catch to compete for a Playoff Spot. I have gone on record stating that the NFC East is not as Strong as the NFC North and South Divisions this Season and that the Wildcard teams will most likely come from the North and South Divisions and that it will mean the Eagles will most likely have to win the NFC East outright to probably make the playoffs, what a wasted opporuntity just like the Coboys debacle final game a couple seasons back and just like the horro show last year in game versus the Vikings.. Can’t Coach AR or Eagles team win a big and meaningful game anymore … I am not sold or convinced that they can
Last week the let the Falcons off the hook, this week they flat coming out and the GIants appeared to have more heart, energy and the will to win this game over the EAgles squad which is embarrasing to say, but true.. The Giants 100 % Deserved to win this game and outplayed and outhustled the Eagles .. Eagles Coaching Staff & Players should be ashamed of themselves..

Based on the end of last year I expected Stewart Bradley, Jamar Chaney and Akeem Jordan to be the starting LBs…in that order. I wanted to give the “Youth Movement” a shot, but this is not going to work. Akeem Jordan should be starting and I’m not sure whether Foukou should be in there either. Kurt Coleman is not a starting safety (always had major questions about him.) They should probably start Rolle in the SS position and figure on scheming around his lack of speed over a long distance routes.

They’re moving Asomugha around too much and getting their money’s worth out of him. He just doesn’t have the gut to mix it up in the middle of the field and considering he’s the best cover corner in the league (who doesn’t get a lot of interceptions) it doesn’t make any sense for him to be expected to be tackling 250 lb. RBs or 300+lb. pulling guards.

The coaching is sub-par. Andy and Juan couldn’t outcoach anyone. Their drafting of DBs and DB free agents totally ignores tackling ability and their drafting of LB’s ignores ability altogether. They
always forget or overlook key ingredients and wind up in a perplexed state for almost 13 years now. This great quarterback developer-maker is a fraud and needs to retire and joint the TV show biggest losers.

All the $$$ they spent this offseason, & they might be worse than last year!!! Embarrassing & inexcusable! Did they even wake up this morning!?!? Mattews, along with all the other LB’s & safeties, should be released, immediately!!!

We have officially become the Washington Redskins. Hows all them FA aquisitions worked for them over all them years? Actually Coleman has regressed also. He was very strong his first half of the year. But every since then he has been horrible. Nate who cant tackle or cover Allen, what another wasted high draft pick.

When asked after the game DRC made a statement that the Giants wanted the game more than the Eagles. This tells you a lot about the mindset of this mixture of players and just how dedicated and together they really are. Andy saying he has to do a better job and Juan smaking asses and high fiving won’t cut it. This has gotten old by now. I don’t blame McNaab for puking on the field. I almost puked on my family room carpet watching this digusting display of an andy reid coaching job.

Where have you gone Dmitri Paterson… (ok, maybe that’s stretching it too far)
I really think the 2011 Eagles will become the 2010 Cowboys which was overhyped during that Pre-season and early Seasion and then started off slow, then had some injuries and then basically just imploded..

Hate to even mention this, but probably need the Cowboys to knock off the Redksins so the remaining NFC East Team would all be 2-1 and only 1 game up on the Eagles.. If the Redskins Win and go to 3-0, Then Eagles are tied with the COwboys at 1-2 in the basement looking up at the 2-1 Giants and 3-0 Redskins..
I know it’s early in the Season, but I really thought the loser of today’s game will not make the Playoffs and now the Eagles 1-2 versus NFC Competition

The only positive I saw today was Shady McCoy. The guy is a stud, and I was encouraged when the Eagles kept going back to the run. The offense had some nice moments chewing up yards and time, it was nice to see us pounding the ball.
The defense flat out stinks, they are giving up way too many touchdowns and they didn’t pass-rush or run-stop well today. I think Castillo is way over his head.
I’m already trying to figure out who the front office retains next year. My guess us the Jeff Fisher will be the head coach next year, Castillo and Morningbreath will be replaced, but most of the position coaches like Mudd Washburn and April will remain.

Today’s game proved the Eagles have too many holes to be considered a Super Bowl contender..

lets start with the defense… the linebackers and safeties are mediocre at best…. that is being generous…. they can’t tackle, cover or make plays….Mathews has no business playing in the NFL…. maybe special teams, but thats it.. he lacks the talent….Fokou the same. Coleman and Page are mediocre and wouldnt start for any other teams in the NFL…they can’t cover and lack the playmaking ability the Birds need from the position.
the guy who coached the defense should be demoted or moved back to the offensive side to help the O-line….. he has no business calling the defense and it showed today… he was out-coached and was clueless…..
let’s move to the other side of the ball…..move Castillo back to help Mudd because the O-line is awful inside…. Peters and Herremans are solid but the interior is just plain BAD…. they would have problems blocking a top college team….not to name names, but the rookie looks bad and his replacement, the fat pig called Jamaal is so out of shape, he should not have made the team…. who to blame? the coaches and it starts with Reid.. he and Roseman neglected to get any help for the o-line outside of the 26yr old over-hyped rookie. They went out and spent on the defensive side and it their money so far has been poorly spent.. maybe throw a bone to D-Jax and he will show up…the guy is playing scared and I dont blame him…
It’s time for Lurie to look in the mirror and seriously consider pulling the plug on Andy and Howie at the end of the season….

If the Eagles lose to the 49ers, then it will be a melt-down of epic porportions and most likely a 4-5 Win Season at most..Maybe this is what this Franchise needs, to shake some things up.. Who knows..
Like the FAlcon game, I thought the OL pretty pretty well for the most part, there was time for VIck/KAfka to throw the ball and they were opening up holes until they got down to the red-zone..
I mentioned that running trap plays, pulling the off tackle, etc, etc does not work in the red-zone for it takes too long to develop and with a short field, you are not going to have that kind of time in the Red-ZOne.. I think many of us stated this last week but he it goes again,… Have 3 WR and spread them out, and run McCoy up the middle, or have a double TE Set and send Donald Lee in motion as the lead blocker (ooh yeah, I forgot, they released Lee who was probably the best Red-Zone TE Target that they have had since Chad Lewis)

On the bright side for selfish reasons,
I did call the BIlls Upset of the Pats (who Defense has given up huge yards, big plays and a ton of points in their 1st 3 games) and also had the Raiders over the Jets and even had the Vikings over the Lions who needed OT to win..

Forget Jeff Fisher. Can anyone find the number for John Gruden. Somebody KNOWLEDGEABLE, tough, no-nonsense, and with a PLAN? I’ve been calling for the firing of Reid for a couple of years now but, there are always his defenders finding excuses for his total incompetency. His naming of Mornhinweg (who didn’t work out to well in Detroit Detroit Lions, where he compiled a 5-27 record and became a runner-up for the Terry Award). I have always hated his practice of promoting in-house (see Juan Castillo) and knew it was one of the reasons the Eagles always came up short by practicing the Peter Principle consistently which is the ONLY thing they do with any consistency. His off balanced offenses, his gadget plays, his poor draft selections, his poor time clock management, his…need I go on? 12-13 years now and no closer to a Super Bowl than when he got here and Philadelphia will NEVER sniff one as long as he’s here and in control. Anyone that thinks they will with Reid is hopelessly delusional

I place the Jets right up with the Eagles as far as being another Big-Market, Northeast over-hyped and over-rated team starting this Season and would not be surprised if neither even make the 2011 Playoffs..

# of Team who make the Playoffs in the NFC Division (6 Teams)
# of Teams with better records than the Eagles as of today ( 7 Teams and possibly 8 if the Cowboys win)
# of Teams with the Same Record as the Eagles (1-2) (5 teams, the Falcons,Bears,Cardinals,Seahawks & Panthers, the Eagles already lost to the Falcons)

the o line played well again, it is not the problem, i am sure shady likes the oline, its poor decisions by vick and his coach, they are the culprits, in addition to the multitude of other problems, promoting an oline coach to def coord, etc. all of which probs emanate from andy reid

News flash … This team can sign all the high-priced free agents they want and it won’t matter. Andy Reid is still a lousy coach. He’s always been a lousy head coach. If this team had anyone with half a brain they’d have won AT LEAST two or three Super Bowls during the last ten years. He is the worst play caller I’ve ever seen. He is so stubborn in his personnel decisions it’s unreal. Anyone with functioning EYES can see that half these scrubs don’t belong on an NFL field let alone the roster of a team with Super Bowl aspirations. Casey Mathews is an out and out stiff. Our safeties can’t play. He made our offensive line coach our defensive coordinator and he conjures up some “Wide Nine” defense that no one else in the NFL runs … or has even HEARD OF! That’s a pretty good sign that … ummm … you probably shouldn’t be running it??

I have bled green for 35 years, but I just don’t give a s*** about this team anymore. Until they replace Reid’s fat, stupid, stubborn, overrated, worthless size 56 rear end they’ll never win a thing. NOTHING.

You know you defense sucks when Asante Samuels is you second leading tackler with 4. How fast is Brandon Jacobs. He looked like he had world class speed compared to Goldie Locks. After the game Babin was insisting that the ref blew the call on the field goal attempt turned first down even though the film proved him wrong. “The Unskilled” should be the name for the team. Looks like Andy after interviewing 20 other DC’S thought Juan Cheerleader was the best choice just like the call in thre game that backfired.

One other thing to rip Reid for that I forgot … he didn’t throw deep downfield ONCE when Vick was playing! Not ONCE! This Giants secondary is a joke and he doesn’t throw deep??? And then, after Vick gets killed, he brings in a rookie and the first play he calls is a deep pass???? Gee, who saw that interception coming?? He’s SUCH an idiot! It’s almost like he thought, “Well last week I kicked myself for being too conservative with Kafka, so now I’ll make up for it by going deep!”

Moron … last week was last week! The game situation is totally different! And same with that ASSININE 4th and 1 call! He as much said after the game that he should have gone for it last week and he didn’t, so this week he went for it. This is the kind of stupid crap he always pulls. He’s so dumb he actually manages to outthink himself. Hey stupid … just because you should have gone for it on 4th and one last week doesn’t mean you should THIS WEEK!! STOP TRYING TO BE SO DAMN CLEVER! What a boob …
