Sixers Embarrass The Kings, Now Rated #1 In ESPN Power Rankings

I was getting myself already to do my normal breakdown of the Sixers/Kings game. I could not get the Knicks game out of my head. Man, I am so pumped for this game. By the way, if you have not heard all ready the Sixers are ranked number 1 in ESPN power rankings. What the hell?! That is awesome.

Since I am so fired up for the Knicks game I have decided to do some post game of the Sixers/Kings and a little preview of the Sixers/Knicks game. So here we go…

At first glance I thought that this could be a trap game for the Sixers. Well, obviously I thought wrong as they steam rolled the Kings for a 112-85 victory. 7-2 boys and girls! I thought the Raptors were bad but the Kings might be the worst team in the league by far. I know they were missing their top scorer in Marcus Thornton but he would have done very little to help these guys out tonight.

The Sixers held them to 39% from the field. So far this season the Sixers have held their opponents to under 40% from the field five times already. The highest a team has shot the ball against them is 44%. Nice… This was the second time this season they have won by 25 or more points. BOOM..

It was nice to see Elton have a solid game with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Doug has been monitoring Brand’s minutes thus far this season trying to save him for the stretch run. Maybe Elton does have something left? We will find out.

Jrue Holiday and Evan Turner both had solid games tonight. Turner actually came very close to having a triple-double with 16 points 10 rebounds and eight assists. Turner might be one of the better defensive rebounding guards in the league. The Sixers had six guys in double figures last night; Holiday, Turner, Elton Brand, Jodie Meeks, Lou Williams, and Thaddeus Young. That seems to be the norm.

I have to give these guys a lot credit for not looking past this Kings team. This would have been a game they would have lost last year. I will give the Kings some talk I guess. They really do not deserve it though. This team is screwed up in the head. Cousins put up 17 points and 10 rebounds tonight and they might be the most non-factor numbers I have ever seen. This guy let an old banged up Elton Brand dominate him tonight. So now I see how Cousins basically has gotten two coaches fired already. He has been in the league for only two years. So he is off to a great start.

Then you have the home coming for Tyreke Evans who is from Chester. Did you see the play were he scored a lay-up in the first quarter and stared right at the camera then his very next possession he air-balled his shot. Way to make your self look like a jackass. The last two sentences are all you need to know about the Kings. Here is the box score and recap. On to the Knicks!

Before I start dogging the Knicks I will tell you this, they can flat out score. Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudemire are probably the two best scorers in the league at their positions. Anthony in my opinion is the best scorer in the league. He is averaging 26 points a game and Amare is averaging 21 points and 9 rebounds a game.

As good as they are at scoring they are just as equally as bad on defense. The Knicks thought by bringing in Chandler from Dallas would help with their defense. Well not so much. They are 18th in defense and 24th in rebounding in the league so far.

I do like Chandler’s game though. You might have seen in my previous posts that I think that the Knicks are “FRAUDS”. I love that word. Well, things have not changed with that thought. They have some guys who can knock down a jumper or two with Fields, Douglas and Shumpert.  Although after that they really don’t have much.

Well, guess I you can say that they have Bibby but he is washed up now and Baron Davis is hurt like usual. Sorry, I really do not see how the Knicks are better. Anthony and Amare are going to get theirs as long as they stop everyone else around them the Sixers have a good shot of beating them even though it is their third straight game. The funny thing is about the back to back to back. Every team that has played that third game in a row has won so far. The teams are 6-0. Here is wishing for 7-0…..

Although Igoudala & Brand still need to go, for the betterment of the future, this team is fun to watch. This seems to be a very fundamentally sound & balanced team right now, that IMO, is leaps & bounds better than last year.

Since I now reside in the Washington DC Metro area, I have to pay for my Philly sports and my Eagles are a given every year, the Sixers I always debate, but no debate this year. It’s well worth the NBA league pass to watch this team. They are the epitome of a Team, and a Team on the rise at that. I hope the city gets behind them, as they do the Flyers…

Dcar…watch the games and learn a lil something…iggs plays legit defense and needs to stay. E.B. is crucial in the development of the rook. And not too mention the dude still has a post up game.

For the betterment of the future? The futures now.

I am stil a little disappointed in the empty seats. Would like to see those start to fill up. On the other hand I love watching Evan Turner on defense and going for those rebounds he is doing an excellent job. They are so deep that nobody is tired when they are on the floor so playing defense is always going to be a strong point for them. Let’s take the next steps and beat New York tonight.

Looking forward to the game tonight…People will eventually go to the games people no big deal just relax and enjoy that we actually have meaningful professional basketball in this city right now. This team kinda is like the anti-eagles…They play hard no matter who they play (good or bad teams), never hear the players talking stupid in the media like they have actually won anything, and we have a no BS coach who doesn’t just repeat the same nonsense time and time again. DC must burn like a 1000 calories coaching a game when you see how into he is on every possession. The only energy we get out of Reid is when he clears his throat before one of his press conferences. Even his fan club would admit they are sick of hearing that vulgar repulsive noise every time he comes up to the mic
