Eagles Scanning Free Agency And Looking To Draft For Peters’ Sub

“[G.M.] Howie [Roseman] and I will sort out the roster situation for the offensive line,” Andy Reid said this afternoon.  “We are glad to have King [Dunlap] back as a part of our offensive line and we will continue to scan the free-agent market, also knowing the draft is less than a month away.”

There you have it.  The Birds will looking for a replacement for Pro Bowl offensive tackle Jason Peters via free agency or via the draft.  Howard Eskin of 94WIP has reported that Buffalo Bills free agent Demetrius Bell will be visiting the Nova Care Complex this weekend.

Here’s the timeline concerning Eagles injured offensive tackle Jason Peters.  He will have surgery in a few days on Tuesday, April 3rd.  That will just guarantee that he won’t be able to pass a physical just prior to the start of the regular season in early September.

Peters will have until about the first week of November to pass a physical or he’ll be ineligible to play any games during the season.  Chances are very high that Peters will miss the entire 2012 season.

Surgery is set for Tuesday, April 3.  If Peters cannot pass a physical before the final roster cuts in September, he’ll be relegated to the “Physically Unable to Perform” list for at least six weeks of the regular season.  If unable to pass a physical by Week Nine, he’ll be done for the season.

What happens to his salary, if he is on the PUP list? Does it count against cap/ payroll like MLB, or coved like the LTRL in the NHL? Anyone know for sure? This will suck, if it is dead $$$$!!!!

Roseman should be at the pro day events of college players and learning more about talent ….he is not a true football guy…

really jott – what defines a true football guy – that idiot songs used to say the same crap – turned out his ‘football guy’ was that he once spoke to a college coach – what makes you more of a ‘football guy’ then Roseman –

there were 31 GMs that did not win SBs last year – where they ALL non football guys? How many years do you work for a pro football team before the idioit fans with nothing of intelligence to say can stop saying you are a non-football guy – wait – if the eagles win the SB next year – will he then be a ‘football guy’

really – you would think the conversation would at some point move past the stupid lame ass cliches that constantly frequent this site – but then hell – what would entertain me all day –

gee – go to pro days to learn about talent……

We should sign a free agent or trade for a OT to take Peters spot for a year,I want to draft A PLAYER that’s going to come in and contribute to this football team this year. When I say “a player” I don’t care what position as long as it is a player good enough to come in and play and have some impact on the team

Nah, this gives Reid all the reason and ammunition to do what he really wants to do every year and that’s draft an O-lineman. He will waste this draft like every other draft and prolly go offense. He ain’t never cared about defense and have been the achilles heel of this team since being hired as coach imo.

eagles are really interested in tanehill .which pisses me off. he led his team to a 7-6 record and in 3 of the close losses he through 3 intereceptions in each game..so the losses were his fault..

@Navy – everyone is entitled to their opinion and they dont need your inbred piece of garbage mouth putting people down to make your miserable life seem wonderful.
This board is usually full of good insight, threads that everyone can post and have conversations and disagreements that are healthy….however, with you its always “navyeagle is brilliant, is the perfect one, the guy who knows everything”…..you are an a-hole…flat out a-hole.

Yes Jott – you are entitled to have your stupid, idiotic, non supportable by any fact and can quickly be proven wrong dumb ass opinion –

really – go to pro days and learn about football – really – that’s an opinion – its a fucking stupid opinion – but hey if its yours – yes sir – you are in fact entitled to it –

my favorite is being the know it all – as I am rarely the one that dictates what the front office should do, I rarely put down any player or coach from the Eagles, and I – who is probably 15 times the ‘football guy’ as I have played through Division I and coached up to Junior College and now I ref – so – yes, I knwo a hell of a lot more then most – but notice – I do not make stupid sarcastic idiotic statements about the organization and the team..

so yes Jott – you are entitled to post your stupid absurd opinions – I will enjoy pointing out just how stupid and moronic your opinions are –

notice – you never actually had am answer to support your ‘opinions’

now I see I have hurt your feelings – I am sorry, I will try to be gentler when I tell you how stupid your opinions are – go to a pro day –

I can’t play with you anymore till later – gonna go grill up some T-Bones and watch some college hoops (me and my miserable life!) –

try to think before you post next time – some opinions are in fact wrong – and stupid – really hard to have a discussion about ‘football guys’ with a person that thinks going to a college pro day is going to teach him about talent…. kind of like the pot calling the kettle black –

Very doubful that Coples falls from a Top 8-10 Pick down to #15..
He’s probably the highest rated best all-around DE in this Draft..

Vinny Curry, and or Whitney Mercilus are my DE targets in this draft. I look at his tape, Coples, and I see Victor Abiramiri…….just my opinion…so they might consider him Larrwd….They love those underachievers.

If Coples is still on the board at #15, absolutely I take him…
Wonder if the Eagles are talking to the Vikings for a trade to move up to #3 in the Draft to Select LT Matt Kalil… It would probably cost the Eagles their #15, their #51st picks and maybe a 2nd ROunder in 2013 plus players CB Samuel and maybe a WR J Avant or DE D Tapp to move up from #15 to #3.. Vikings could use all they help and talent they can get…

larrwd – With all due respect, how do you know that the Eagles are really interested in Tannenhill? And why would that be bad?
