Andy Reid Has Extended Himself For His Players, Now Will They Get Him A Title

Will getting closer to his players and putting it all on the line for them, help Eagles head coach Andy Reid win a title?  We’re going to find out because Reid has done everything his players could ask for and they say they’re eager to win him a title.

“We know we’re going to get it done”, Eagles quarterback Michael Vick told CSNPhilly.com’s Derrick Gunn about his, Andy Reid’s and the Eagles organization’s pursuit of  a Super Bowl championship.  Vick emphasized his desire to see Reid, the guy who gave him another chance at an NFL career, coach a team to a title.

“I want him to be satisfied”, Vick told Gunn.  “I want him to wear a ring.  I think he deserves it.  I think he should have been had it.”

Reid has always been close to his players.  He was like a family member of Donovan McNabb’s, but we’re seeing him get even closer to the guys who wear the midnight green.  If you remember the comments of LeSean McCoy and his agent Drew Rosenhaus, about how Reid played such a monumental role in getting a deal done.

Reid was also very instrumental in getting wide receiver DeSean Jackson’s deal done and he was the key force behind bringing Vick to town and making him the team’s number quarterback.  The former number one pick in the draft is confident he can help the coach get what he wants.

“I don’t ever look over my shoulder in the game of the football”, Vick told Gunn.  “I think I’m good enough to be out on the field at all times and I know what it takes to win.  I’m confident in my abilities and you bring anybody in I’m still going to play my game.  I’m still going to be one of the best in the game.  With hardwork, I will continue to prove that.”

There’s no question that Reid has put it all on the line.  He has pushed the Birds front office to get all of his guys signed to healthy extensions, now we’ll have to wait and see if they can get him that illusive title.

Wow. Only 12 “I”s from Vick in 10 sentences. He’s been working hard to cut down on those. And he actually threw one “we” in there…impressive.

Drat…I missed the “my game” bit. Back to 13 in 10 sentences. Right on his career average of 1.3 “I, me, or my” references per sentence.

Vick is really starting to get under my skin. dude your 32, not 18 start talking like you actually attended an institute of higher learning, if in fact VT is one.

Dont keep saying you workhard when every report says you are lazy and cant pick up the blitz.

Its not vicks fault his first year the offense was fine when the simplified it . The coaches over-analyzed last year .. being able to pick up the blitz is great if you cant run like manning or brady but whats the point if you ahve an athletic quarterback like rothlesburger vick or rodgers both rodgers and rothlesburger have simple offenses .. it just adds confusion .. the eagles are always out thinking themselves

Can’t please some people. Why does it upset y’all what athletes say or do. Think about how many times they get asked the same damn questions over and over again. Some Professional athletes are damn if you do, damn if you don’t! They live life out of a fishbowl. SMH!

Well they better get it done for him. Everything is in place. No more excuses. IMHO, If they don’t win a SB, or at least get to it, Reid & Vick will be gone. But I still don’t think Lurie has the balls to do it. I got a feeling that Reid is here is long as he wants to be. So hopefully they can win a SB. I would like one in my lifetime. I’ve had at least one with all of the other 3, & I think it’s about time, don’t you?

It does bother me what Vick says. He’s the only one. Not to many people have the past he’s had. Just do it MVick. Stop talking about it.

Given the sketchiness of the severely undersized O-line…DJax needs to be on the left side instead of Maclin. He’ll get open quicker, Vick will get rid of the ball quicker and things will run a bit smoother.

OK Butch – I will play – the sketchiness of the severly undersized O Line…

Um – in a ranking done of Offensive Line untis last year – the Eagles O Line ranked #1 in the NFL –

The Eagles did everything well as a front unit. Not only do they have the best offensive line in the league, they also have the best individual player in Jason Peters who will most likely miss the entire 2012 season with his second torn Achilles injury.
Category Rankings:
Sacks: 11th
QB Hits Allowed: 13th
Rush Yards: fifth
Rush Average: third
Big Play vs. Negative Play Ratio: fifth
Total Power Percentage: ninth
Individual Production: first

Now I can understand the concern with the loss of Peters – – but the O Line will have 4 of the same 5 guys and Kelce is reported to be coming into OTAs at about 300 – 15 pounds heavier then last year –

Kelce and Watkins were both all-rookie team members and Kelce is now being projected to be one of the top centers inthe game –

MAthis was ranked by some as the BEST guard in the NFL last year and Hermanns impressed the hell out of everyone and earned a nice extenison

as for severlay oversized – 311-302-300-310-320 peters was 328 – so average size about 6’4 307 (with Bell vice Peters) ? which O line do you want to compare that to?

our subs are actaully bigger (Dunlap is now up to 330.. the two new draft picks are bigger..)

Oh – and the O Line coach happens to be one of the best in the business – been doing it a long long time..

so seems like you want to change the offense based on Peters being out….

another site:The Philadelphia Eagles can light up the scoreboard, thanks in part to their quality offensive line play.

Jason Peters paves the way for LeSean McCoy and Michael Vick’s fifth best rushing attack. You have to take the team’s 49 sacks allowed with a grain of salt though. Because Vick scrambles so much, many of the sacks allowed are a result of him and not poor protection.

Make no mistake: this is one of the more complete offensive lines in the NFL.

the giants (used the SB champs) went 304 – 305 – 303 – 305 – 327 – ( Diehl, Suebert, Ohara, Snee and Mackenzie) so average size was 308?

It’s lookimg like these bum ass safties are what the Eagles will go with…..and you’ll hear “I told you so” before half way through the season.

now that the MLB position have been addressed teams will now set it’s mark against DRC and the garbage safeties.

Look for quick slants and hooks all day against this team.

Songs, quick slants and hooks are seceptible to man press coverage. You’ve never seen what Nnamdi and DRC can do in man press coverage on the outside. So you are talking about somthing with a tone of authority, but from a perspective of ignorance. Must be a day that ends in the letters ‘d-a-y’…

**Eagles Report**

-DT Cullen Jenkins’ wife had surgery so he wasnt at first day of OTA’s nor was DE Jason Babin who is on a hunting trip.
-LB Mychal Kendricks said he is lining up as starter at SAM, with Chaney as backup. Kurt Coleman and Nate Allen starting Safeties.

I hope Babin doesnt think his starting job is safe. He has alot of hungry hungry guys behind him ready to take his job. And he goes on a hunting trip? Poor planning on his part. I hope he has a good year, but missing OTA’s after a year we had last season isnt what i call getting off on the right foot..

Thanks Jon – the rest of us don’t have access to internet sites. What would we do without you?

Seriously though, every year a vet or two misses OTAs and people suggest it means something and it never ends up meaning anything.
