Reid: “Bad semantics on his part” On Monday, Vick’s His QB

Eagles head coach Andy Reid just told us it was “bad semantics on his part”, which got everybody thinking that he was considering changing quarterbacks.  Reid said “Michael Vick is out starting quarterback”.

Vick did say he heard the coach’s comments, but said he doesn’t get worked up by anything until he hears something directly from the coach.  The Eagles QB said he talked to the coach but they didn’t spend much time talking about his situation.

Vick said he wasn’t concerned or worried about his job situation.

Reid deserves an Oscar for the action job he did today.  There’s no way in the world he could have said what he did on Monday and have done it unintentionally.

Reid said Derek Boyko the Director of Media Services informed him that his comments on Monday morning had been perceived as an admission  that he had opened the door to the possibility of making a change at quarterback, but he had no intention of making that impression.

If you believe that I’ve got an island I want to sell you in the Poconos. Reid knew exactly what he was saying and to make sure Vick got his message, he finished up his statement by saying, “we’ll evaluate it going forward”.

Reid is very measured about what he says to the media.  He thinks about every word before he says it.

Alright already. NO BFD. Any NFL player that doesn’t think that they’re not being evaluated on their play, especially bad play, is an absolute idiot. Vick makes mistakes, as do we all, but he’s no idiot. He’s smart enough, hopefully, to disregard that media crap, go out and do the best he can. If Reid does his job right, he’ll make Vicks job easier this week and maybe, just maybe, Reid will place his players in to a good enough position to win. Of course, imnot holding my breath. I stopped doing that several seasons ago when I realized that while Reid is a very smart man and coach, he’s even more stubborn, his Achilles heal.

isn’t great that all off-season and summer long the Eagles And QB Vick talk about playing smarter, taking less hits, protecting the ball, making quicker reads, more pre-snap adjustments nad here we go almost a month into the season (4th game of 16) and we are still talking about the same shit with this Offense and QB Vick… Get rid of the f’n guy already..

Vick today:
“We had no trouble with blitz recognition. Everything is good with our offense. Everything is in sync. Everything is intact. We just have to get better. [If] we eliminate the turnovers and start fast [then] we give ourselves a chance to win games.”

LOL. 4 days later and he still hasn’t seen that corner blitz yet. Whammo!

NFL Total Access

Kurt Warner was asked about how he felt about Vick’s performance…now Kurt Warner isn’t a Dan Marino, John Elway, or a Steve Young…but he is definitely not a Vinniethesister…

Kurt said he saw the tapes…and what he saw when watched the tapes, was Vick making good decisions most of time, his biggest problem was that there aren’t many options for Vick when he drops back? why? Eagles trying to use more protection (which really hasn’t worked) Celek in on protection in most cases, Eagles going two wide, RB staying in to block. Vick will begin to play well and when that happens, I guarantee no one will hear from you again! Can’t wait!

Ok Here’s the Giants talk. Vick had a horrible game last year against the Giants. The Giants not being stupid will follow the Cardinals defensive scheme. They will pummel Vick but Since the Giants DB’s suck Vicks line will be 24-47 310 3TDs 2INTs a FL and Eagles win 34-31. Giant games are always weird

bad, bad Match-up for the Eagles across the line of Scrimmage the Giants are bigger, stronger and better coached and disciplined
Giants QB, WR’s are much better though Eagles have the better RB in McCoy and TE in Celek..
Defenseively, Eagles get the nod at CB, but Giants have much better Safeties and the LB Corps are about a wash..
Special teams is not even close, favors the Giants from the Kicker, Punter and Coverage Teams ..
Giants win in a laugher 34-17 on Prime Time and then the Boo Birds and legitimate questions are openly talked about VIck’s status and future with the Club.. I believe after Week #5 (after another loss to the Steelers dropping the Eagles to 2-3) Coach AR & MM will pull the plug on the MV& experience and go with a platoon of Trent Edwards & Nick FOles to see if they can get back into the Playoff Hunt, If they are out of it by week 10, then it’s Foles the rest of the way.. and I can’t wait.. I am sick of this playground/streetball type of QB Play from VIck. It’s time to cut the chord..

larrwd, IMHO our receiver problem could honestly be solved with a solid big bodied #2 WR. Djax should stay the primary receiver because his speed illicits fear of the big play thus opposing D-backs will play deep which opens up the middle of the field. Maclin is not yet a legit NFL #2 WR, he’s a slot WR. That being said, if I had my way our receiving corp would be DJax, Plax, and Maclin with the rest coming off the bench. If Celek is pulled out of the passing game to block, Vick would still have a big target in Plax and not have to get the ball two sub 6′ foot sub 215lb WR’s.

I’m still SMH as to why after all these years of having the same issue at WR, that being size and strenghth, a receiver like Burress is not on this team.

I invite all of you to read the following post to gain a better understanding just how many plays were left on the field and how many different players on offense were at fault on different plays. Believe it or not it’s not all Vick. Include in the analysis are a few plays that went well. It actually helps t study those plays in order to understand what the Eagles’ play concepts are and to see the coaches are actually gifted play designers. It is truly great analysis.

Ok… so have we finally stopped proclaiming Eagles armageddon after one loss? Are we ready to talk Giants now?

Ok, let’s start it of with a few quotes:

Tuck, Giants still fear Eagles’ Vick

“While Philadelphia fans debate whether Vick should be replaced at quarterback by rookie Nick Foles, Tuck said a move like that would be music to his ears.

“I hope they do replace him,” Tuck said Wednesday after the Giants practiced in preparation for Sunday night’s game against the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field. “Go ahead, please, and it will make my job a whole lot easier.”

Giant’s fans are not going to be happy with this comment from Tuck.

Oh. Well. Warner said everything was good with Vick. On NFL total access.

On a show created by the league.
Paid for by the league.
Designed to promote the league.

Have you ever watched their segmants about anyone else. All they do is sing praises.
“I think Tebow CAN flourish in this scheme….”
“Jay Cutler IS a good quarterback, he just needs help from the players around him”
“”Mike Vick makes good decisions most of the time…”

As for Tuck…the fact that he gets tired and doesn’t like chasing Vick as he runs around like a confused dervish does not make Vick a good QB.

September 27, 2012 10:43 am

@Vinniethesister – yea and that show never bashes any players right? never says anything about a QB struggling. C’mon…

The important part of his comment was “he saw the tapes” tapes in which he had a different view than you and I, who watched the game from our couch. So you keep on pretending to know more or see more than any of us. Fact of the matter is most of the time you’re making shit up…talking about Vick doesn’t go through his progressions…OK a few times he stared down a WR…But Kurt also said, those times are when he has no options, and players are kept into block. Also, as far as you saying Vick can’t change plays at the line….Coach AR said this week that Vick did a good job of checking out of plays…another contradiction to the bullshit you talk on here day in day out! Bitch please!

Unbelievable!!! The Vick people on this site will throe the entire team under the bus to protect a bad QB. In the past two weeks I have saw every receiver thrown under the bus, the entire o-line and the entire coaching staff. It’s ridiculous and idiotic. As for Kurt Warner’s comments take them with a grain of salt. He is am NFL Network commentator, former QB and a nice guy..he’s not gonna throw anyone under the bus. It’s hilarious how a 100 million dollar “ELITE’ QB needs so many protectors.

– is something wrong with your brain? What does it take for a QB to be successful….Good teammates! An O line that blocks for him, gives him time, a coaching staff that calls good plays and mixes it up a bit, doesn’t allow the defense to just play the pass all game. So I guess that Eli, Ryan, Smith, Brady, Brees, don’t need any blockers, they make things happen all by themselves…Vick being on his back more than any QB in the league is all his fault, that’s what you’re saying, right? a QB needs nothing to be successful other than the coach. Folks the likes of Warner see’s there’s more going on than just Vick’s play, which tells me he understands the game…As for you, if you feel the blame is all on Vick, then you don’t know shit about football!

September 27, 2012 12:16 pm

@realtalk Thank You for proving my point. My point was that there is always a different excuse for why Vick doesnt perform. One week its the o-line, now its the receivers. Last year it was the defense and coaching. All thise QB’s you brought up dont have the perfect lines, receivers, coaches….but they still perform. I do know football and thats what drives me fucking crazy. Any other QB that performs like this in there 3rd or 4th year gets benched, this guy in his 10th season still gets chances and excuse makers out the a-hole. Im tired of this. How the hell can a rational person that understands the game protect him? He gets the shit kicked out of him, but so does Eli a lot. I am not an ELi fan but dammit I would take him because he understands the FN game. We yell at our coach to dumb down the game to help out our 100 million dollar man. Before you start saying others dont know the game, learn it yourself. Im trying to be respectful but you have no idea what your saying.

I like the spot we’re in right now.

These are Reid’s coaches, his players, and the team is quite talented.

It was Reid who loved the fireman as a 1st rounder last season.

Lurie, opened the coffers and spared no expense and even fired his old time business partner and friend to create an environment in which Reid could thrive.

Reid still find ways to get in his own way.

This spot is great…….

If the Giants come in our house on “Dawk night” and stomp a mudd hole in our Eagle’s green ass, live on prime time television, this will up our chances of getting a coach that can take this talented team to the Superbowl.

There’s coaches like Gruden out there that could use Shady as the feature and call plays that protects the QB from getting killed.

one more stinker with the world watching could be our saving grace.

@real Im good with disagreeing but not with excuse making. It’s always someone else’s fault. 10 years of that. If Vick didnt have TJ Duckett and Warrwick Dunn in Atlanta he would have been done 7 years ago. Theres always an excuse every game every season. It’s Bullshit. Stop being a Vick fan and start being an Eagles fan like you claim. Your the guy who said were 2-0 and he made it right at the end. That was shortsighted and ignoring the facts of the game….9 turnovers..as many as whole teams…Its been the story of his career. So go on keep making excuses, its not going to change the opinions of people that really know football…Stooge.

Do you hear what the rev. songs is preaching, he’s openly hoping for the eagles to get get blasted because like many of us , we just can’t take it any longer, the song has been sung for fourteen years, the tune is the same, all is vanity until Andy Reid is gone, you can talk about Vick vs, Foles, but we will never really know about Vick as long as Reid is here, and although Foles may be better than Vick, Andy Reid is a quarterback killer, at least as of late, Kolb almost killed here, damn I am surprised Vick is not dead with the beating he takes, all thanks to the passahaolic, refuses to use the best weapon on his team…..Giants 36 Eagles14

Unlike others on here I believe he gives us a chance to win games and make a shallow playoff appearance.
The point is stop making excuses he is a turnover machine. Reminds me of playground hoopsters always making excuses… Oh that’s right you know all about them too. And before you say anything I coached h.s sports for 30 years. I’ve seen them come and go…

– you can not be serious, clown……you say I’m a Vick’s fan and not an Eagles fan, because I see a bigger picture? because I’m not the type to blame losses on a single individual? Get Real!!!! so anyone who agrees with you, knows football, I get it! see I’m not making excuses for his turnovers, I’ve gone on record saying Vick has to make better decisions, and I’m tired of the turnovers…some INT’s were just bad decisions, can’t be blamed on anyone but Vick……But what I am making excuses for is him being hit as much as he is hit…which in some way actually impacts the possibility of him turning the ball over on occasion….does that make sense? or the play calling, that puts him in certain situations, where the Eagles offense just isn’t in the right type of formation to begin with. WR routes? TE’s kept in to block? O Line injuries? backs missing blitz pickups….none of that has anything to do with a success of a QB….ok, I got it now…talking to you I feel educated and confident! thanks for that! please!

@haveNoBrain aka GetsNoAss aka Haven’thadassinyears
I dont give a shit what sports you coached…with those players you say made excuses how did you handle them…kick them aside or did you try and help them adjust their outlooks? see now this is the type of things I do…my team was created to keep the kids off the streets, out of gangs etc….you know nothing about me…if you are really serious about kids, what are you doing now? or was your 30 years being paid enough?

If this team has all the problems you say how can you think they can compete? I mean the entire offense and coaching staff needs an over haul i guess. This team has holes and I know it does, but the worst part of the offense is the QB. Andy Reid should be fired for thinking this guy was good enough to take us to the superbowl. Jim Mora said Vick was a coach Killer back in 05. Guess what he is. If we lose this week will Shady be blamed if he drops a pass on a badly thrown screen…even though vick throws 2 INTs in the red zone? Last year Vick has 6 red zone turnovers he led the entire NFL.
