Vick Says He’s Ready To Eliminate Fumbles, But Won’t Talk About Dog

Eagles quarterback Michael Vick knew he was going to asked about his fumbling problem today and he wisely stepped up and answered the question the way he should have answered it on Sunday afternoon in Pittsburgh.

“I expect everybody that gets close to me to be reaching for the football,” Vick said. “It’s totally my responsibility to take care of the ball and move on, especially for the sake of this football team. It’s something I’ve got to get corrected. I set a goal for interceptions, and I’ve got to set another goal.  It’s a situation I’ve created for myself, and I’ve definitely got to take care of it.”

Yes, he needs to place the same focus on fumbles as he has done with interceptions because they really have hurt this football team.  If he hadn’t fumbled on the goalline last week and the Birds had scored a touchdown, it could have changed the entire complexity of the game.

Vick needs to continue working on his game and who knows this offense might get in sync before the season is over.  Vick and the offense has put together an outstanding late drive in each game except the Arizona contest.  Going forward they’ve got to get in that grove earlier and find a way to stay there throughout the game.

The Eagles starting quarterback was unwilling to talk about a pitcher he sent out on Twitter which seemed to show that he has a dog.

“What goes on in my personal life is not to be talked about,” Vick said. “What’s more important right now is the Philadelphia Eagles and getting a win Sunday.”

Previously Vick had said he had a daughter who wanted to get a dog, but he had to wait until it was okay with his probation.

Eagles Offense has become much too predictable over the last few seasons, play calling is poor,QB play is bottom :rd of the NFL and Eagles WR corp has become simply average as I have stated all year long
Defense is promising but it’s the Offenses & QB ‘s that Win Championships in today!s NFL and the Eagles simply don’t have a good one.

I can understand you being frusterated Dcar. In all honesty though, coaching has not been the issue this year! It has been a couple lapses by the defense, who for the most part has played extremely well. The DLine is causing pressure but not getting the sacks, becasue other teams fear our DLine and are keeping TE and running backs in too chip. The sole reason this team is being held back is TURNOVERS!

an 8-8 record seems right. We’re 3 plays from being 0-5…can’t ecpect a 11-5 season if you’re alwys one opponend mistake from losing.

That being said

This game is really hard to predict. Could go either way.

Case for Detroit: Coming off bye and desperate. Enjoy scoring 28+ a game (6 of last 8 games) and Eagles’ don’t. CJ vs Nnmadi.

Case against Detroit: An immature team witha punk coach and a QB who still wears his hat backwards. Can’t win with a QB who wears his hat backwards. Terrible pass D

Case for Philly: Detroit’s terrible pass D. Eagles’ borderline excellent D. Despite some inprovement, its still the Lions.

Case against Philly. Qb who like to give ball to other team and later sulks on bench. Can’t win with QB who sulks on bench…especially if wearing hat sideways or backwards. Reid enjoys wasting timeouts. Eagles’ traditiionally flat before bye. Have scored 20 only once this year and will need to score 30.

Could go either way…I’ll say Win because its Detroit and losing is what they do.
4-2…then….

ATL: Win. Birds always win after bye
@NO: Loss. NO will find its mojo
Dall: Win. Romo sucks
@ Wsh: L. Should be a win…but wash always tight games
Carolina. Easy win. Newton, another gifted athlete who relied on ability and never learned position. See: Vick, Mike
@ Dallas. W. Dallas backup QB sucks

Wow! 9-3…wow….that’s not actually possible with Vick at the helm….will be 8-4 (prob either the atl or dall game)

@TB L. Every year Eagles’ lay a stinker to a team they should beat
Cinci W Tough game to predict.
Wsh W
@NYG L

10-6….antything is possible!

Ist round loss in playoffs as Vick throws 2 ints and a fumble.

i love the 3 plays from being 0-5 comment. Did you know that we are were 1 play from being 4-2? 1 play. All we needed was a stop on that last drive. 1 play.

but we arent… we are 3-2. the best part… we beat the Superbowl Giants and a good ravens team to get there. Stop crying.

– good point…it only makes sense when you twist it negatively though….

People say the Eagles are lucky to be 3-2…but no one says the Eagles are unfortunate not to be 4-1. Another double standard with some Eagles fans. Fact remains the Eagles are 3-2 and can be 4-2 going into the bye!

Eagles Offense led by QB Vick has the lowest Scoring Point Average in the NFC with a whopping 16.3 Pts a Game and VIck is individually ranked 14th out of the 16th QB’s in Total Rankings in the NFC only above Josh Freeman and Russell Wilson
Eagles have the worst ranking in the NFC in the critical Give-Takaway Ratio Category at a -7 ..

Throw everything else out out the Window
If Eagles can’t score 24-27 Points a Game and protect the Ball. they are finished as a legitimate Team for a Playoff Run (I have already taken them off my board as a Playoff Team for 2012)
Time for a complete Coachign Staff Change, a New QB and get rid of the Following Players from the Current Roster

QB Vick, RB Dion Lewis, WR R Cooper, TE C Harbor,OL D Bell
DT C Jenkins, DE J Babin, CB Asmo, LB Matthews

Need to add a Big Physical WR, a better Receiving TE as a compliment to Celek, More Depth on OL and of course a QB who is smart and can protect the Ball
Defense, Eagles need to add Safeties and CB and another DT and LB

Need Additiions

Sigh…so difficult trying to communicate with the selectively ignorant…

Let me rephrase: “The Eagles are 3 Vickstakes, that luckily weren’t converted, from being 0-5.

The fact that a Cleveland LB dropped an easy catch, doesn’t negate the fact that it happened.

Realtalk has lately been yelling something like, “Now your only complaint is the fumbles!!” Or something like that. Under the ridiculous assumption that Vick’s interception issue has been “solved” or something.

Its not about fumbles, or ints,…its about carelessness, and stupidity.

Vick is still being stupid.

When he ran backwards, spun and heaved the moonshot that 4 players jumped at….that was stupid. The fact that the Pitt Defender who was closest didn’t come down with it does not negate the fact that it happened. Stupid plays like this are not “solved the int issues”. when he threw the stupid Ngati grasp land at the feat of the Balt defender ball – was that “solved the int issues”??? Ridiculous.

Diving head first for no reason and losing ball? Stupid. That a pitt player accidently brushed up against his leg does not negate the stupidity.

Running OB in the NYG game with less than 3 mins to go when staying inbounds was the play is stupid. The fact that the NYG bumbled away the easy win does not negate the stupidity.

Holding the ball in one hand away from his body like he’s Deion returning a punt, and after leading the league in QB fumbles his entire career is stupid.

Vick, in every game this year, has made carless, stupid plays…that 3 of them, which could have cost the Birds their games, (Cleveland drop, Ngati sack/heave, Unnecessary OB) didn’t….doesn’t negate the fact that they did happen.

And they will continue to happen. Becasue that’s what he does.

Master of keeping both teams in every game.

didn’t

Selectively ignorant is a good term for you….describes you to the TEE! you are the one that only sees negative in Vick’s performance..never can give the man his due…
none of the supposed “Vick suppporters” are making excuses for Vicks fumbles/turnovers, we know he needs to take care of the ball. But you on the other hand, despite Vick improving against the blitz verse the Giants and PITT, playing the QB position in the pocket, driving his team down the field on game winning scoring drives. Drives that required 10 plus plays, another thing you said Vick can’t do….

The one thing you have to admire about Vick is his heart, in spite of his bad play he has played tough and gutted it out, he has shown more balls in this lousy spell than that fraud McNabb showed in 14 years of protecting the football and putting up bogus stats, with all this talk, criticism of Vick, I am now hoping he pulls it out and can silence the detractors, I still can’t stand that pouting on the sidelines puss face, but its better than hearing all this garbage talk all the time about the quarterback, vinnie, although realtalk is a mike Vick apologist, he posts about football other than Mike Vick, what will you do if Vick pulls this out, what will be your next purpose in life?

yup. nailed it. And thats the big picture….. no-one in this room is praising Vick for amazingness…. NO-ONE. But this selectively ignorant fool only wants to talk about Vick. Its mind blowing,

This is a TEAM sport. And the TEAM is in first place. I still have hope that this team will turn on some offense even behind this oline.

Here’s the reality brothers.

I know there’s a lot of fans out there thinking that the first 5 games were not and indication of what this team is but you’re wrong.

We’re here now like we were many years hoping things come together.

Suppose what we’ve seen is what this team is?

Well fellows that’s all this team is and it’s nothing special.

There’s glaring flaws in all 3 phases of the game and we’re five games in.

Usually, good teams clear up these problems through preseason.

And yes Vick is regressing, but if you think he’s the biggest problem you aren’t looking.

The Special teams never give the offense good field position and gives the other team half a field against our defense.

Major.

We have a head coach with game day autism and a passive defensive coordinator.

A offensive line coach who could probably block better than the majority of our line and he’s 102 years old with a hip replacement.

Our Safeties are soft and opposing teams make there bread & butter against the area of the field that would get receivers killed if they were constantly going over the middle against other defense in the league.

On the bright side, we do have enough talent to fill the seats and keep the homers hoping….

Not me!

I’m a fan but a realist and And Reid have squeezed ever ounce of blind faith out of me.

8-8 9-7 at best and we will miss the playoffs.

What Happened Vinnie is that WE WON Those games PERIOD..
Which one is it 8-8 or 10-6…Stick to your guns playboy (term of endearment)
no flip flopping allowed…
“When he ran backwards, spun and heaved the moonshot that 4 players jumped at” ( Actually it was a Smart play.. He was being chased so He Avoided a sack and a Penalty )
Intentional grounding of a forward pass is a foul: loss of down and 10 yards from previous spot if passer is in the field of play or loss of down at the spot of the foul if it occurs more than 10 yards behind the line
Intentional grounding will not be called when a passer, while out of the pocket and facing an imminent loss of yardage, throws a pass that lands at or beyond the line of scrimmage, even if no offensive player(s) have a realistic chance to catch the ball (including if the ball lands out of bounds over the sideline or end line).

Songs – no one on here wants to be your brother – we would have to bitch slap our mamma for bringing such a stupid fuck into this world –

here is the reality – you are an asshole – you are not an eagles fan – just to show you what a fair weather douche bag you are – after the Ravens game you predicted 11 wins you bandwagon jumping on and off wuss

but here is my favorite reality – 7 more wins and you are gone fuckstick – enjoy –

By the way asshat – you read the article in Parade magazine this weekend about all the bullshit information being passed around on vaccines – turns out doctors are now conspriring to force families to get their kids the shots – seems that the doctors are starting to refuse to see kids that don;t have thier shots, the doctors don;t want to put their other patients at risk becuase certain parents are too stupid to properly care for their kids…. but shhhh… its all a big fruad by the big oil companies and wall street

How is that dumb ? I don’t get it ? Explain the stupid part

It did looks like a stupid thing to do but upon further
Review…the stupid part was reversed
