Saints Pound Vick And The Eagles, 28-13

The Eagles offense piled up 447 yards with 221 coming on the ground and 226 coming from their air attack, but they were couldn’t score a single touchdown though they got in the red zone five times.  I thought their execution was poor in the red zone and the play calling was pathetic.

The defense missed far too many tackles.  I can understand them allowing passing yards to Drew Brees, but letting the Saints run the ball for 140 yards is ridiculous.  New Orleans had come into the league with the worst running game amongst the 32 teams.

They don’t have enough size at the wide receiver position or the power-needed on the offensive line to be effective in the red zone.   I knew LeSean McCoy would miss Jason Peters this season.  It is clearly where they lost the football game.

McCoy had a big day with 119 yards rushing on 19 carries, but he couldn’t do anything in the red zone.

Remember the Birds were battling a Saints defense which came into the game allowing 30 points a game.  Statistically, they are the worst defense in the league, yet the Eagles offense was able to score only 13 points in the game.

The Birds offense allowed 371 yards to the Saints and was unable to deal with New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees and Pro Bowl tight end Jimmy Graham.  Brees was 21 of 27 for 229 yards with two touchdowns and zero interceptions for a 128.2 quarterback rating.

Eagles quarterback Michael Vick was sacked seven times during the game last night.  He was pounded and pummeled like it was a heavyweight championship fight.  I thought he played fairly well when you consider how many times he was hit and slammed to the ground.  He completed 22 of 41 passes for 271 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

In the biggest play of the game, I thought the Eagles were robbed on the interception which was returned for a touchdown.  The defender seemed to be holding Brent Celek’s left arm when the ball arrived, so he could only stick out his right arm.  Of course he tipped the ball and it was returned for a touchdown.

The Eagles offensive line was flat out awful.  The team would have been wise to leave them here in Philadelphia when they jumped on the plane to New Orleans.

Rookie offensive lineman Dennis Kelly looked like a turnstile and he let pass rusher after pass rusher go by him on the way to deliver knockout shots on Vick.  His lateral movement was as bad as I’ve ever seen from a NFL blocker.  He started out the game chasing pass rushers as they went by him on the way to Vick.

Demetress Bell came in the game as a substitute for Todd Herremans.  They would have been better if they had just left the position open.  Many times he let the guy who was rushing the passer go by him, but he also helped out with penalties.

King Dunlap is a decent backup but he’s not good enough to start in this league.

I’m convinced that center Dallas Reynolds isn’t an NFL player.  He gets overpowered far too many times.

Eagles cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha missed at least four tackles during the game.  Brandon Graham made a big play by stripping Brees of the ball with the Saints marching to another touchdown.

Just painful to watch.

I truly dislike Andy Reid for making this proud city a laughing stock.

I would like Jeffery Loser to fire him today. Use the rest of the season

to evaluate every player on the roster. Get rid of all the softies and

undersized weaklings. Model the franchise after the Steelers not the old west coast 49ers(as he once stated).

If harbaugh can come in and make the New 49ers an instant contender then the eagles should be able to do the same thing.

This FAT LOSER has wasted over a decade with his buffonery.

This team has lost their confidence.

I blame the FAT MAN. And his team of Yes-Men coaches.

I also blame Jeffery Loser who should have fired Andy Reid the second the Juan hiring came out of his mouth. Even the most uneducated football man new that was a disaster waiting to happen.

Atheletes become free agents and sign with the best team.

When their team stinks, fans should be allowed to become FREE AGENTS, and sign on with a team that has common sense. Of course we can, but then
we’re call bandwagon fans.

So let me turn to college football. Always liked Alabama and Notre Dame’s commitment not just to winning, but to winning National Championships!

Success and nothing less. Beats “the bronze standard” accepted in philadelphia.

Eagles lose out the remaining schedule and finish 3-13, they have lost their will to battle, The Team (Players) and it’s Coaching Staff have given up.. The Biggest Big of Chumps in the NFL and are just the KC Chiefs who are also struggling besides Talent due to not having a Pro NFL QB, and having a lame-duck HC in Romeo Crennell as the Eagles do with Coach AR

I think I have mentioned a few times, Is it amazing that every Defense the Eagles Face looks like a Top 10 Defense.. Why is this.. beacuse the Eagles plays, formations and calls are very predictable besides having a shitty O/L
I say D-Jax/Maclin/R Cooper all drop passes and short-arm attempts to catch the ball in traffic.. I also seen the TE’s Celek and HArbor drop about 4 balls between them.. Everyone keeps saying the Eagles WR/TE corps are among the NFL Best and I will continue to disagree and state the contrary, that they aer amoung the weakest, softest WR/TE Group from Top to Bottom in the NFL.. It’s not only the OL and QB who are underperforming, but this Eagles WR Crop are a bunch of Wussies and it really shows in the Red-Zone where their inability to get open and fight for the ball is very embarrasing and evident.. Does anyone ever see smaller WR’s like Wes Welker, Steve Smith, Santana Moss,Randall Cobb, give up on routes or not extend themselves to make plays in the Red-Zone.. I see the Eagles WR’s sticking oe arm in a half-assed,wussy attempt to catch the ball in traffic..
I just hate the make-up of this team, I really do..

Need to go 3-13. Problem. Who to draft?

I think it should be OT, but it could be QB….we have to play Foles at this point to find out what direction to take the draft.

Putting Foles in behind this offensive line is stupid. Go into next year with a QB competition and let the best man win.

First and foremost, draft a RT. Move Herremans back to guard, get Watkins the hell out of there. JP, Mathis, Kelce, Herremans, Stud first round RT will be a more than formidable line.

Whoever the QB next year is will have enough protection to succeed with his talent.

Putting Foles in now could ruin him.

It could, but you also cannot go and draft a QB at #3-5 and pay him $25 mill guaranteed. There would be no QB competition at that point, it would be given to the new guy. You may waste a talent in Foles.

The team should find out what they have. Then can make a better evaluation of need for the draft. If Foles shows promise, the pick is better used on an OT (though I wouldn’t mind the DT pick from LSU. He and Cox might be a nice pair for a decade.

If Eagles go 3-13, they will have a Top #3-#5 PIck

The 3-4 Biggest Impact Players I see in next years Draft are all on Defense

DT- Star Lotulelie (Utah- 6-3 320lbs) – Another N Suh or H Ngata,very disruptive

OLB – Jarvis Jones (Georgia 6-2 245lbs) – Pass Rusher, makes plays on the Offense side of the line of scrimmage and reminds many of a Von Miller type
and can also drop back in pass-coverage pretty well also..
OLB – Barkeveous Mingo (LSU 6-4 245lbs) – Very physical and still a little raw but hashuge upside with proper teaching and a professional atmosphere surrounding him (I am always a little wary of LSU Players adjusting to the NFL Game)

MLB – Manti Teo’ – (Notre Dame 6-2 250lbs) Just makes plays, against the Run,Pass COverages and blizting the QB, reminds many of a young Junior Seau, who just keeps coming, relentless, naturally strong with a high Football IQ and Great Leadership Qualities.

NOoooooooo

Sources tell the Philadelphia Inquirer that GM Howie Roseman was given a 4-5 year contract extension when Joe Banner stepped down.
The Andy Reid era is coming to a close, but the Howie Roseman era is just getting started. In his first three seasons as GM, Roseman has made 31 trades including the Donovan McNabb, Kevin Kolb and Asante Samuel deals. He’s also put together the Eagles’ failed “Dream Team,” signing the likes of Nnamdi Asomugha, Jason Babin and Cullen Jenkins in free agency. Reid currently has final say on all football matters, but that could shift to Roseman if/when Big Red is ousted.

Is it too early to talk about my offseason wishlist?

JP – Mathis – Kelce – Herremans – SIGN JAKE LONG.

Also, sign Dwayne Bowe. I’m tired of our receivers not getting separation when it matters (redzone). Both Maclin and Jackson are more than formidable but they are not #1s. We should play Maclin on the outside and Desean in the slot. Sign Dwayne Bowe and lets ride the F out. The defense replacements and overhaul will have to go in another post because it will take me all day.

I would love to see Teo’ here, but how about a safety? Birdo- I second that thought on Bowe.

this might be a dumb question, but why doesn’t Andy call more slant passes. if your obssessed with the pass, 0-line sux, QB avg even with a good line, throw slants. i see other teams do it and get 7-10 yards all the time. no sacks

GoodxQuestion Berks but I will give you my 2 Best Answers
1) Vick is too small when taking a 3step drop which I have stated for 3 years a now and with his 3/4 arm motion his passes would get batted down at the line of scrimmage more often than not
2) Eagles lack the strong, fearless type of WR’s to run the slants and in between the numbers in the passing game. When you watch the Sagles passing rites by the WR’s , they predominantly run and catch the ball outside the numbers towards the sidelines which is something else I have stated as a weakness with the Eagkes WR corps. Opposing Teams dC’s know this and roll their coverages many times to the outside part of the fields and without a speedy, athletic TE to stretch and test the Safeties of Defense’s they in essence are only using 1/2 the field to work with which us not going to work in today’s NFL

So you have a QB, WR’s and most play calls keeping the WR’s away from the middle of the field which makes the Eagles Offebse predictable and easier to defend

The eagles offensive line is worse than the Antone Davis Jermaine mayberry days. There isnt a quarterback in the league that could succeed behind this offensive live. That being said a tall giant quarterback would be better served because her can get rid of the ball faster. However not even this is guaranteed because Dunlap is 6’10 and Kelly is 6’8. Honestly I dont want vick getting hurt. I want Reid outta here .. I want either Gruden Dungy or Cohwer to have Vick intact and take it from there.

Don’t worry about the red zone…..When we wanted Plaxico this bum ass organization sold you bum ass Riley Cooper who have did absolutely nothing from Day one. There’s no accountability here. Riley Cooper was that big, red zone target that draft. Remember?

Remember they sold Nate bum ass Allen to us and I told you he’s a damn bum after they made that receiver in Tennesee look like the best receiver ever born?

You apologist told us to give em a chance. We don’t need years to know what a soft non player looks like.

Every opposing team targets the weakness of our safeties in the middle of the defense every game. They also get physical with our receivers in the red zone limiting separation knowing there’s no need to defend the fade routes with tiny receivers.

We all scratched our heads when This front office drafted bum ass Watkins, a 27 year old fireman from Canada with little football pedigree.

Why in the hell can’t we go with the obvious choices like other football teams instead of always trying to show we’re smarter than others only to end up with a damn bum?

Not to mention Jarrett’s pick in the 2nd round…..he’s was slated a 6th round special teams type at best.

But don’t worry fellas….

Howie have a fresh 5 year contract to continue pulverizing this team into the ground…..

Future Flash.

They’ll blame everything on Andy.

oh yeah..

How’s that blessed signing of Demetrius Bell working out?

Andy and Howie told us that we were fortunate he was available.

I’m laughing my nuts off right now.

Told you guys for years now and I had hope that we’d be finally on the turnaround with the firing of Andy until news leaked Rosebud will be the guy after Andy is gone.

We’re done for the forseeable future.

Get your bags ready because we’ve become the Oakland Raiders….Nnamdi can now feel right at home.
