The Chip Kelly Effect

ChipKelly1By now, you have watched, read or heard about the “dual” interview with Vick and Foles. It was unique, engaging, awkward and entertaining. Questions were answered in “tag-team” fashion. The media was awarded the opportunity to experience an interview session with the “Chip Kelly Effect.”

As we approach week 7, our season has embodied headlines that have speculated our starting quarterback, the Cary Williams situation, the Rile Cooper ordeal, the Cooper and Williams altercation, the first half of the Redskins game, the return of Andy Reid and once again the speculation of the starting quarterback although this time an injury mixes things up. An awful lot to make sense of, but we have explored, dissected and moved on from every situation I just mentioned. I personally know I have not mentioned Cooper in any sense but his play on the football field, and the same with Cary Williams.

I’m not hooked up to heart monitors, drinking personalized smoothies or getting the correct hours of sleep that Kelly wants from his players. I am however getting the “Chip Kelly effect.”

The Chip Kelly effect is simple. You don’t worry about what happened, you focus your energy on making it happen. It’s hard enough to win NFL games as it is. Don’t give your opponent more to work with. Believe in yourself. Be there for one another. Leave nothing to be questioned. Your job depends on it. Kelly’s ability to connect with these players, it starts right there.

Kelly was a rookie coming to the Philadelphia Eagles. His system was a mystery, is ethics and logic questionable at the NFL level. Kelly could care less, he believes in what he does. Not arrogant, not short with his answers. If you want to know about a specific play-call, you better have the exact quarter, time of game and offensive formation his team was in if you expect an answer. Kelly won’t ignore you, he expects you to do your homework with putting together questions like he does with his game-planning.

His confidence is able to engage the Philadelphia media, which is not an easy task by any means. Kelly has acknowledged that he has been wrong, that he is still learning, and that nothing we have witnessed is the style the Eagles are trying to embody. Kelly has been straight forward that he will modify what he does to beat the opponent that he is facing that week. His concern is to dress the players he feels are best suited for what the other team does best and the things he can exploit which they don’t do well.

Kelly knows about the rivalry between the Eagles and Cowboys. He is quite aware that that first place in the division is the reward for winning the football game on Sunday. Chip also knows it one game, week seven, with nine left on the schedule after he beats the Cowboys. He has his game-plan to attack the Cowboys on both the offensive and defensive side of the football. He has his pre-game plan, his adjustments, and adjustments to the adjustments. Chip Kelly is “football,” it’s all he knows, all he does and all he thinks about.

The Chip Kelly effect has welcomed us back as Eagles fans. We are fired up for the matchup with the Dallas Cowboys. We are not hopeful we can stay in the game, we expect to walk away victorious. The players and coaches believe, we as fans believe, but at the end of the day it’s Kelly’s belief in himself that will shed all titles of this being a “rebuilding” season, layer by layer. The end result is to be determined, place no limitations and modify your expectations.

A True Rivalry only exists when the hate and disdain for each other Teams,Players and Fans are at the same Level from both & Cities..
The Cowboys True Rival are the Washington Redskins and not the Philadephia Eagles .. Sorry, but it’s the way it is… The Cowboys and their fanbase do not feel as passionate as Eagles Fans do about these yearly mathcup… The Eagles True Rivals are the NY Giants, but the Cowboys draws more attention due to their raised “National Brand” of America’s Team that everyone loves to hate.. (Like the Yankees, The Duke Blue Devils, etc, etc
Anyways, Back to Football

The Cowboys come in with a list of Injuries to their DL..
4 Players who were to be their Starters and Core of the DL are all injured
D Ware, Spencer, T Crawford and J Ratliff so the Eagles must take advantage of this and Control the Line of Scrimmage and pound the rock against the likes of G Selvie, J Hunter, N Hayden & K Wilber, If the Eagles cannot dominate this Front with a Healthy OL, then the Game is lost no matter how well anyone else plays
The Key to the Cowboy Defense is their LB Play and in particular Sean Lee, Bruce Carter who are having very strong Seasons thus far
CB Brandon Carr is the Cowboys best CB while 2nd year CB Morris Claiborne still has problems in Coverages and Tackling ..
their Safety Tandem of Barry Church and JJ Wilcox is actaully worse than the Eagles Nate Allen/Patrick Chung Combo.. Church is a thumper but weak in pass-coverage and JJ Wilcoz is a Rookie who is overly aggressive and again gets caugh out of position on deep passes.. The Eagles OL should be able to provide enough Time for FOles to hit some big plays down the field to D-Jax,Cooper, and other Receivers.. The Cowboys are now a 4-3 and Coached by Monte Kiffen and Rod Marinelli who are Tampa 2 gurus who don’t bliltz often and rely on thei rFront 4 to put Pressue on the thier QB, and keep 2 Safeties back and even drop their LB a little deepper to protect the short, intermediate routes.. Downfield blocking by Receivers and OL will be huge for attacking this Scheme with Screens,Bubble Routes and Crossing ROutes is the way to go at first to soften them up and pound the Rock with McCoy..Brown.Polk at a fast pace to tire out a very thin and inexperienced Cowboys DL is the way to go…
Cowboys also are without their leading RB in D Murray but have 3 great weapons at WR with Dez Bryant, M austin and Rookie Terrance Williams to go along with old reliable Jason Whitten.. Romo with throw, throw, throw and I expect him to put up points.. The Key for Eagles Defense is to get at least 2 Turnovers and try to hold Cowboys to FG’s and not allow TD’s
Special Teams will be huge for Cowboy Returner Dwayne Harris is electrifying with the ball in his Hands and is a load at 210lbs to bring down one on one in the open field once he’s up to speed..

in the End, the Eagles have to play an almost Perfect game to beat the Cowboys, Be efficient with the Ball on Offense and Score TD’s,(which I think they will do) Defensively, they have to prevent TD’s and force Cowboys to FG’s and win the Turnover Battle (which I am not sure this Defense can do) and win the Special Teams Battle, (Which I am not sure they can do)
Cowboys 36 – Eagles 31

Chip Kelly was snookered by the red practice jersey Mike Vick. The one who isn’t allowed to be touched under any circumstances.

Romo ribs have to attacked. Blitz Blitz Blirtz – The Eagles need him to start ducking and chucking like Eli did.

If the plan is to Blitz Romo The Eagles will lose. Washington tried that last week and Romo lit them up. Not a good match up for this defense. Dez Bryant cant be stopped by this team. Dallas 33 Eagles 30

Who gives a shit what the cowgirls fans who sip wine ala norman.braman ,the man from France …that’s Dallas ,oil money and snobbery.we as eagle fans ,giant fans ,redskins fans personify east coast fervor and fanaticism …we bleed green ,we do hate Dallas ,because we were brought up to hate the stinking cowgirls.call it good parenting.Injuries are part of the game ,nobody cared that we had guys coming off the street to play O line last year..the home field means more to me than anything ,I want the vet to come across the parking lot ..we have momentum ,and a team which is committed ,unlike recent years. We are lacking a true leader ,that will eventually come ,and then we can be defined by our house ,our fans and our team..kick some serious stars …let mike Irvin’s cold body ,symbolize our vitriol…I fucking hate the cowgirls …go birds …

I hate the Cowboys too and hope the Eagkes kick their ass,
But they don’t look as the Eagłes glad their chief Rival
It is for us, but not for them and you need both to have a True Rivalry
Like the Jets & Patriots, Packers & Bears,
Steelers & Ravens rivalry of today..
