All-22: How Could Nick Foles Not See The Wide Open LeSean McCoy?

The Eagles ran a nice pick play in the first quarter against the Cowboys.  They had Jason Avant go on a short inside motion, so he would be in position to pick Bruce Carter, who was the linebacker who was covering LeSean McCoy.  McCoy was running a wheel route, which means he goes outside and then head deep down the sideline.

McCoy was the number one option on the play and he was wide open, but Nick Foles must have forgot the play.  How could he forget that McCoy was the first option on the play?  If he didn’t forget the play then how could he not see him.  Foles is looking to his left.   Either way, if he can’t run that play then he can’t complete this pass, you have to wonder what was going on with him.

It makes no sense.  Again, Foles was looking to his left where McCoy was running and the running back was wide open, but the quarterback didn’t throw him the football.  He waited and eventually threw an incomplete pass in the direction of tight end Zach Ertz, who running a crossing route.  It doesn’t make sense.

I’m sure the Eagles put in this route last week and they went over it a number of times.  Later in the day, I’m sure they ran this route to make sure everybody was on the same page.  How could Foles not see McCoy running wide open?

Foles was so bad and unable to see wide open receivers, that you wonder why Eagles coach Chip Kelly didn’t consider sitting down Foles.

Yeah…I agree…he should have pulled Foles out of the game and sat him on the bench! He was so shook up and overwhelmed by the moment…he couldn’t see anything. But we need to get Shady on track…take the pressure off of the QB position, like every other QB needs, get the play action pass back in the game

Last Week’s Game versus the Cowboys is Over G,
How about some analysis up their Upcoming Game which happens to be the
most important Game of the 2013 Season and of Chip Kellys early Eagle Career as HC in my Opinion..
What Scheme with a 85% healthy QB Vick will or could the Eagles employ that will keep the GIants at bay and on their heels
How does the Eagles Defense Match up with a Different Giant Offensive Team that has little Running Game and has become a Pass-First Offense,
How about SPecial Teams, Why not utilize D-Jax versus the Giants which has given up big returns all Season long on Punt COverages ..
It’s Thursday and 72 Hours before the Biggest and most Important Game of the 2013 Season for the Eagles in my opinion and we are still talking about last weeks debacle versus the Cowboys.. I sure hope the Eagles Coaching Staff and Players have rid their energy of what could have been and focus with the Task at hand which is devising an effective Game Plan versus the Giants this week … Let’s see how Innovative Chip Kelly really is …
Is Read-Option really an option to use this Week, I don’t think it is and believe the Eagles Offense would be better served scraping it for a couple of Weeks…
How do the Eagles Offense

Gotta disagree koolbreeze. Barkley might have come in and thrown 6 picks. Foles is better right now.

Skayne I pray that Chip had nothing to do with drafting Barkley. I hope it was a total Roseman move. because if chip had his hands on any of this..then..damn. I’m not going to write him off after his first ever start, but I also agreed with the experts in regards to his plummeting draft stock. Meanwhile Geno was smoking during individual workouts, was falling; but somehow we couldn’t STEAL him on a value selection.

They drafted him cuz it’s the perfect time to try a hailmary pick. A fourth round pick doesn’t cost too much. You roll the dice, maybe a 7 comes up.

Like they did with Foles. The dice have come up, and it’s snakeeyes.

Barkley has a better claim in the future, only cuz he hasn’t had many opportunities to suck. They didn’t think Barkley was hot stuff, just that it was the time to take a chance.

Come on “G”…….

of course Foles seen him!!!

He’s 6′ 5” and can scan the whole field with a quick release.

NOT!

running one of the highest scoring team’s in the NFL this loser put of 3 freakin points and held on to the ball instead of throwing it away to get clocked and force the refs to pull him.

Foles didn’t want to play anymore.

He’s a damn bum!!!!

LOL…easy songs. I don’t think the kid is as bad as he performed that game. But yes, he looked like hot garbage. I know he isn’t better than Vick. Vick is clearly the best qb on the team. But unlike Kolb (whom you tabbed correctly as well), i believe Foles can play in this league. He’s just being ridiculously elevated to something he isn’t. Most -not all_ of these folks pretending he’s the next dan Fouts are doing so out of their dislike for Vick. That’s a heavy cross to bear for a tough but average at best qb like Foles.

He’s not as bad as he performed?

examine that statement again and try to make sense of it.

You know that was him, right?

That was him like a deer in the head lights.

He cracked under pressure and that’s not a good sign for a quarterback. Hell, Barkley look horrible but at least he was slinging.

Foles is out of his element.

He’s a backup…..that suits him fine because he can actually thrive without the pressure that comes with being number one.

I hear you. I guess I’m willing to allow the kid a chance to still develop if no more than a serviceable backup. And no, I don’t believe he’s as bad as he looked…lol. Last Sunday was so bad he has no where to go but up..lol. I still say Kolb looked worst in that Greenbay game. Kolb literally played like someone scared to play football. Foles just sucked. But we both agree that this team’s best hopes for the now is with a healthy Vick. Question, how you think we’d be sitting with a Geno Smith waiting to take over from Vick? Roseman screwed up big time.

Roseman sucks ass and could be the worse GM in football right now. This team will be pressed to do anything as long as Roseman is in charge. He personally picked Nate Allen.

Should I say more?

I have a better suggestion fraudman. Why don’t you start your own website. Then you can post/discuss whatever you like. It’s G’s site. He can discuss whatever he wants. Besides, his analysis is only annoying to you because it isn’t another of a million about how much Vick sucks. For a guy who once claimed he was tired of discussing Vick, you’re conveniently in the middle of every thread. You have some nerve. Everyone else may let your stupid ass slide, but I won’t. I’m surprised you didn’t accuse G of racism like you did when he gave his opinion of Riley Cooper’s relevance after the Tampa win. Remember that asshole? I DO.

The head coach doesn’t agree with you. He likes Vick. That’s why he had him brought back. He even held an open competition for the starter. Vick won going away. AGAIN, KELLY DISAGREES WITH YOU.

Kelly views Vick as the current best option, although a week ago he wasn’t too sure as he was reluctant to name Mike the starter when he became healthy.

IMO, I believe Foles deserves a bit more of a chance to show that he is a franchise QB. In all honesty, I really don’t think he is, but maybe I’ll get proven wrong.

Chances are though he is not that guy. So lets look at the upcoming QB class. The Eagles pretty much HAVE to hit on the QB they take or we’ll end up with another 5 years of this mediocrity at best. Bridgewater is a legit stud. Mariota is fast as anything but doesn’t throw a great ball. Still he has nice accuracy numbers.

Lets focus on the draft. We can probably trade Vick to a team for a 7th round pick, or a 6th if a team is desperate for a practice squad guy.

I’ll say it again, Vick is the starter and our future QB is not on the team yet. That leaves Vick as your starter next year even if they draft a QB. Foles nor the other kid are franchise quarterbacks. We want a championship I don’t think we have that guy yet.
