Notes From The Sixers’ 105-94 Loss To Orlando

hollissixersThe Philadelphia 76ers lost their game in Orlando on Monday night falling to the Magic 105-94. Their record drops to 6-10.

  • Thaddeus Young returned to lineup after missing three games for personal reasons. Young had one of his best games of the season, scoring 26 points with eight rebounds. He came off of the bench for the first time all season, Brett Brown’s plan was to ease Young back into the lineup.
  • Michael Carter-Williams scored 23, but shot just 9-21.
  • Evan Turner had a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds, and also had eight assists.
  • Spencer Hawes missed another game with knee soreness, meaning the Sixers got another dose of Daniel Orton and LaVoy Allen as their starting big men. Orton and Allen combined for nine rebounds and 14 points.
  • Tony Wroten missed another game with back soreness.
  • The Sixers have now lost six straight games on the road.
  • Former Sixer Nik Vucevic was dominate in the first half. Vucevic didn’t miss his first eight attempts, and finished with 21 points, 16 rebounds, five assists, three blocks, and a steal.

Final Thoughts

One of the worst parts of the Andrew Bynum trade has been seeing Nik Vucevic develop into double-double machine for the Magic.

Looking back, Doug Collins really did a poor job managing the young talent that he was given to work with. Collins never gave Vucevic much of a chance to crack the rotation and make an impact during his only season in Philadelphia.

The former first-round pick played sparingly throughout his rookie season, and when he was included in the Bynum trade many considered him to be just a throw-in. Would the Sixers have thrown him into the deal so easily is they had a better idea of what he was capable of?

**Hot Sixers News**

My source is reporting that the Cleveland Cavaliers are actively shopping 21 year old Dion Waiters. The three guys mentioned and of interest for the Cavs are Loul Deng, Iman Shumpert and Evan Turner.

My Thoughts: This could be a huge trade for the Sixers moving forward getting a player like dion Waiters at the age of 21 and if this Team and organization can really develop him he could be a superstar in the NBA mark my words. I think the Sixers have the edge and inside on this since Evan is still young and is having a allstar caliber year..

haaaa

is your source Chris Broussard on Twitter or is it someone who read you his tweet 7 hours after he posted it.

you’re delusional

Updating a previous item, Iman Shumpert, Luol Deng and Evan Turner are the trade targets for the Cavs in exchange for Dion Waiters, according to Chris Broussard of ESPN.com
The Knicks really need a big man and since Shumpert is really their only trade piece, it doesn’t make sense to trade him for another guard. The Bulls are reportedly looking to deal Luol Deng, but bringing on Waiters would also seem counterproductive. The Sixers might be looking to deal Evan Turner, but they would likely want some draft-pick compensation. In other words, these deals don’t seem likely as a one-for-ones. Nov 27 – 4:32 PM

What should also be noted is that Dion Waiters is a Philly guy, this is his hometown so he would obviously want to come home. Hes just not happy in Cleveland and isnt a good fit their. Similar to how ET just isnt a fit here. He got in a fight with his teammate Tristan Thompson and has requested to be traded shortly there afterward.. Also he played one year with MCW at Syracuse. Id like this deal.. I think this would benefit both teams but the Sixers will need a little more from this deal like a pick or cash consideration.. regardless of who comes here I have confidence that this coaching staff will develop them and will help them reach their full potential..

At this point ET is way more valuable than Waiters though. If the Sixers can grab a 1st round pick (Maybe protected top 3) or something + Waiters. I’d be for it.
