It’s all on the line this week for the Eagles and especially quarterback Nick Foles. He’s not a household name like the other marquee quarterbacks in the National Football League, but he numbers are historic and he has had an amazing recording-breaking season.
Foles has to be given serious consideration for the Pro Bowl. He’s got his team at the top of the NFC East and he’s been consistently on the money with his decision-making and his throws. His competition for the Pro Bowl will be the Seattle Seahawks Russell Wilson, Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints, and Cam Newton of the Carolina Panthers, but Foles has a higher quarterback rating and has had a better statistical year than all of them.
In the Bears game, Foles completed 21 out of 25 passes for 230 yards and two TD’s with a 131.7 quarterback rating. His 84% completion percentage is a single-game team record for the Eagles.
Foles currently has a 118.8 quarterback rating for the season, which ranks third in NFL history behind only two former NFL MVP’s Aaron Rodgers (122.5 in 2011) and Peyton Manning (121.1 in 2004).
Whether you like Foles or don’t, you have to acknowledge his excellence this season. He has thrown 25 touchdown passes and yielded only two interceptions.
The former Arizona signal caller has had a quarterback rating of at least 100 eight times this season, which is second in Eagles history to Donovan McNabb who had at a quarterback rating of at least 100 nine times in 2004 during Philadelphia’s run to the Super Bowl.
The pro-bowl is a waste. There is only 1 bowl that matters. Nick Foles on the other hand clearly matches this team and coach well. He may turn out to really be a great one. Protect him Birds. It also is my hope that the Birds learn one lesson from what just happened to Dallas. Keep Mike Vick around next year and beyond. Ya never know, and ya need a legit. backup. Mike Vick is more than a legit backup; and besides, he’s my 10 year old’s favorite Q back.

Nick Foles should ABSOLUTELY make the Pro Bowl. Along with Lesean McCoy, Jason Peters, Evan Mathis, Demeco Ryans, Fletcher Cox and maybe Connor Barwin.
Fletcher Cox isn’t even the best lineman on the Eagles. Definitely Cedric Thorton is better and personally I like Vinny Curry over Cox also. I would love to see Curry get 50 snaps a game to see what he does. All he does is make plays everytime hes in the game. Not saying Cox sucks, just think he is a avg player. IMO.
Stop. Thornton is good but just stop. Fletcher Cox has dominated. Go watch the tape.
