The hatred for the Cowboys is coming from more than just the fan base and local media. The players are chiming in, they know the history, the blood which has been sacrificed to walk away victorious.
It’s nice to hear the remarks of Cox and Logan regarding the offensive line that the Cowboys have been mashing opposing teams with, making holes and creating space for Murray to lead the lead in rushing. It’s refreshing to see a little smack talk about the opposing team and not drama within the locker room. (Keep your mouth shut Riley Cooper)
OFFENSE
Romo has responded really well the last two outings after sitting out a game with a back injury. His go to Dez is a guy you have to limit, difficult to take out of the game. The safety valve is Witten who always seems to carve up the Eagles. The offense really goes through Murray; he is getting a ridiculous number of touches and is showing no signs of breaking down, so they continue to feed him the football. Three of the last four years the Cowboys selected an offensive lineman in the first round, and have really been one of the best groups in the NFL this season. The Cowboys are going to run stretch plays with Murray, and also get him in open space via the screen pass. Dez will be given the ball close to the line of scrimmage and allowed to use his size and ability to break tackles against the vulnerability of the Eagles secondary, but also be the recipient of the deep pass which the Cowboys will attempt numerous times no matter the down, score and field position.
For the Eagles, Sanchez is going to be asked to be more of a “game manager” on Thursday, and he needs to be smarter with the football. The Eagles will look to be as quick or possibly even quicker with their pace of calling plays. With how loud it’s going to be, I expect a variety of hand signals by Kelce and Sanchez to keep the offense moving while making the adjustments once the Cowboys show their scheme on defense. McCoy must have 22-26 total touches; the offensive line is at a point where the screen pass should continue to see an increase with designed plays. We saw a lot of the “wheel route” in preseason; Sproles could find a ton of space on Thursday if this play is dialed up. Maclin has the speed to get past anyone in the Cowboys secondary. The Cowboys defense struggles with covering the tight-end, I expect the Eagles to attack this weakness.
DEFENSE
The Cowboys are average across the board. They keep their team in games; have a few guys that can get after the quarterback, but nothing that worries me. They are coached well, make minimum mental errors and play well as a team.
The Eagles “MUST” be physical, nasty at times, hit Romo early and often and get in the head of Dez Bryant. I wouldn’t expect Barwin to be asked to cover Witten, his pass rushing is too valuable, so possible Kendricks is assigned with this, or maybe even Boykin or Carroll. Murray is going to get his, the top backs in the league always do, but the Eagles must shed their blocks and not allow Murray to break free for that long run. The plan for Dez must be the opposite of what the plan was for Jordy Nelson, Davis knows what he has at his disposal, and needs to be smarter about his scheme.

He has been ok in leading the teams to wins and knocking off the rust from not playing…he should be much sharper now! I think Sproles will see a good deal of action tomorrow. Running the ball with Shady, Sproles, and then pounding them with Polk. Sanchez’s deep ball is suspect, I may try to sneak a couple down field to Mac, then some screens. I wouldn’t ask much of Sanchez, he just needs to manage the game and not turn it over. Run the ball, high pace, keep cowgirl offense off the field and wear the cowgirl defense out.
