How Will Carson Wentz and Sam Bradford Interaction Play Out?

CarsonWentzatCombineIt’s easy to see that Carson Wentz is down to earth and humble young man.  At the same time, he’s confident about what he can do the football field.   When asked is he had seen the Eagles current starting quarterback Sam Bradford play, Wentz let it be known that he wasn’t in awe.

“Yeah, I’ve seen him play a little bit,” Wentz said. “Obviously I know he was a top pick and everything, not too many years ago, and obviously I know he was with the Rams and everything, and now here. But you know, I haven’t watched a ton of film on him. I watched a lot of film on guys like Brady and Manning and Rodgers, those types of things. So I don’t know as much as some of the other guys.”

I’m eager to see how a passionate player like Wentz is going to interact with a guy like Bradford, who is as “quiet as a church mouse”.  I’m even more eager to see how the other Eagles players react to Wentz’ leadership as opposed to that of Bradford.

If Wentz comes out and competes with the passion that has been talked about, he is likely to win over the players on this team.  Football players are by nature, fighters.  They want to follow a fighter into battle, while Bradford has some explaining to do about not being willing to compete for his job.

Philadelphia is a city that loves fighters.  Philly doesn’t respect an athlete who is unwilling to fight.

I could see Wentz and his passion lighting a fire on Bradford. Plus it’s going to be a competitive atmosphere whether Bradford and the Eagles want it or not.  The media will be watching every play in practice and comparing the performances of the two.   Competition is the nature of the business of the National Football League.  The League is not for the faint of heart.

“If you’re scared go buy a dog”.

I expect if Bradford is a no show to OTA’s & Early Camp that he will be placed on the “Non-Report List” which would impact his Pay.. The Eagles couple place this tag on him similar to when they suspended TO for conduct detrimental to the Team … I know that Owner Lurie has to be beside himself for signing off on a 2 Year Deal with Bradord while the Organization was upfront and honest about Drafting their Future QB this Draft only to now have Bradford pout and whine about having to compete for his job as Starter … What a mental midget this Sam Bradford is and exactly the Reason I wanted no part of his bum-ass to begin with… He’s a Bum, a Puss and just not a Leader who has no business wearing the Eagles Jersey .. His Career is done in Philadelphia!!!

Im still trying to get why Howie signed Sammy boy to the last and latest windfall for sammy. Sounds like a severe miscalculation by eagles to sign sammy and then move up , spend a bunch of prized draft choices, and if it does somehow work out there are too many q,b.s on team and only so many reps for each q.b.If sam was removed from the equation at more timely date, This mess would not be here , Looks a mistake by howie, drafting Carson may turn out to be a superb move, but it looks like lurie is out millions and millions, That cant look good on Howies resume. Rookie misteak for howie.

signing bradford had to be done at the time- make no mistake, the eagles are trying to compete and he in their minds gave them a shot- at the time i’m sure they weren’t so in love with wentz yet… It will work itself out- again, don’t worry about the funny money.

No, I will worry about the money — 17 million for Sam and 7 million for Chase could have been used on a Starting CB better than bargain basement hires McKelvin or Brooks;
or a starting OLB better than bargain bin hire Bradham;
or a starting WR instead of the clearance section for Givens and Randle;
or a starting caliber LG instead of on the trash mound rotting for a month in FA Wisienewski.
24 million is multiple pro bowl starters worth of salary.

they signed a guard at the third highest pay of any FA guard, the FA WR’s weren’t much and they feel they don’t need a significant upgrade– matthews and Agular were very high picks and young, 4-3 OLB’s… thre was pretty much junk out there– you can whine and complain but in essence you are asking them to sign players that aren’t there…

John Elway and Tom Heckert found a way to get Aquib Talib & Demarcus Ware on his team and won a super bowl-
Bill Belichick found a way to get Darrell Revis on his team and won the superbowl.
John Schneider found a way to Michael Bennett and Cliff Avril and won the superbowl
Howie is having trouble getting Sam Bradford to lift a pinky to earn the 22 million he just gave him.

Even with the signing of Bradford, Daniel, and the rookie Wentz the Eagles have lees money invested in the QB position than many many other teams around the league.

And exactly what free agents would you have wanted Roseman to sign this past off season?

Howie made a MASSIVE stupid decision to give Bradford and Daniels that free agent money. I am KNOW I am correct in that assumption.
It is wasted MONEY———
the GM of the year would have nailed the draft and free agency. He is going to be wrong certainly with Daniels probably with Bradford and possibly with Wentz.

These draft picks did not put on a pad yet or an Eagles jersey, and it’s already a bad draft. I understand it’s not a sexy draft, not a whole lot of sizzle as far as the names are concerned. Give these guys a chance first. Just because these guys were not talked about by the media (minus Wentz) it’s bad. Seriously, how many of you who are saying it’s a bad draft actually watched any of these guys play every game of the season. Except for Wentz, the Eagles drafted no one I wanted, but, that does not mean it’s a bad draft. We will not know what this draft is until 3 years from now.

No one could predict the level of wuss exuding from Bradford at this point in time.

Eagles had no guarantee at time of signing that we could get to Wentz or Goff via trade. Apparently Bradford thought it could not happen.

They had to do a deal — the fact that it is really a one year deal says it all about the FO’s mindset regarding Bradford. The issue is that no one knew how big that landmine really was – it expanded beyond health, performance and fire in the belly questions to this absolutely impossible to fathom divaishness.

At this point and time I want to see Howie in a QB jersey and see what he has got. If he can sling a pigskin like he writes contracts and trades for picks, I think the dude might not be bad as a back-up.

option A- he shows up, collects that check and competes – 70%
option B – he retires – 5%
option C- he shows up, gets beat by chase and/or wentz in camp then gets cut – 25%

I dont know which option I want to see more between A & C. Id love for him to be cut just to show the dumbass koolbreeze what sams real value is and show sam himself. however id love for him to start week 1 just so he feels how eagles fans feel about pussy qbs

I think sam is gonna retire by mid summer
For the following reasons
1. He doesn’t like competition
2. He doesn’t want to be a backup
3. I see no team next yr that’s gonna sign him to long term deal next yr I mean every team that needed a qb got one and if a team next season is bad there gonna draft a qb and Sam is Gonna be back in the spot which he is in now I think sam sits down late may and talks with his family and by late June retires

Sam and his money were INSURANCE.

Does your wife complain about spending what ever per month on life insurance as a waste of money? Hell no. Jeff Lurie looked really upset calling his new Franchise Face on draft day. I mean I could just see him worrying about previously spent money.

” Whether Jeff Lurie pay all 22 million depends on Howie’s ego.”

What? Depends on Howie’s ego?? That is just dumb.

1 – Bradford cannot be cut. If he does, his dead cap hit jumps from 12 to 18. That jump wouldn’t leave the Eagles enough room to sign their draft picks (I believe)

2 – Bradford must play or be traded.

3 – Bradford has absolutely no trade value. Nada. None. Everyone hates Sam – especially now that he’s acting like a baby-la-la.

4 – Because Bradford cannot be cut, and there is no trade value at this time, he remains on the roster. Two things will then happen. He will play, hopefully well enough to raise his value for next year, or 2 he will stay hidden, being suspended and fined all year. He’ll then be dumped by the wayside next offseason when his dead cap hit will only be 5.5 million.

One. Last. Time.

The Eagles are trapped/

Your continual screaming of “Howie do something” makes no sense, because there is nothing to be done.

1 – Bradford CAN’T be cut. The increase in cap hit would make things beyond difficult.

2 – He CAN’T be traded because NO ONE wants his pathetic, whining baby-la-la ass.

This isn’t Howies’ mess, this is Kelly’s mess. Eagles were “trapped” 2 months ago with the 13th pick, no where close to a guarantee to get one of the rookies, and a QB who you had wasted a competent (in Philly) QB and a 2nd round pick on….can’t let that just walk out the door…..

The Eagles were fucked by Kelly….this whole, entire situatioon could have been avoided had that idiot not traded for Waterford in the first place.

Did Howie make it worse?? There a case to be made there. I certainly wouldn’t have re-signed that bum………but I guess he felt trapped. The organization had thrown away assets to get this loser, and that cannot just be dismissed. Howie wanted his “money’s worth” for the stupid trade….and he also hoped bradford would play well enough to recoup something, anything the following year.

As I said, correctly, all along, that’s why they paid the 2.1 million premium to keep his rights.

But no one, not even I who always thought he was a timid loser, could have expected this.

They should never have signed the guy and gone with Daniels like I wanted all along….well…they should never have traded for Bumford like I never wanted all along.

mhenski

i think eagles got about 11 mill in projected top 51 cap space. so they can prob afford to cut his ass and sign rooks. wentz cap hit is around 4.5, so 4.5 + extra 5 dead cap brings you to 9.5, still have 1.5 to sign the rest of the guys plus they can redo some deals or cut some expensive guy to make it work (sproles, barbre, tobin, gardner, huff…)

there are choices —
Howie, Dougie & Jeffery have chosen the Sam Bradford is their starter choice.
They have not backed off.
Also Chase Daniels is their backup 2nd string choice.
Hilarious.
I will not give him a millimeter of space off those statements. Oops Howie goofed on Bradford, we have to live with the consequences until later is not how Ed Marynowitz was treated by Jeffery and Howie last year. He was tossed before the season ended. ACCOUNTABILITY pressure is shining on Howie’s head.
And after seeing the Head coach signing, the coaching staff signings, the free agent signings and the draft pick selections. I see some MASSIVE MISTAKES. And I am booing loud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brady Quinn sums up Sam Bradford’s mindset: He’s never had to compete

Posted by Mike Florio on April 29, 2016, 6:40 PM EDT

Many have been confused by Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford’s desire to leave Philly. Former NFL quarterback Brady Quinn isn’t. Quinn explained Bradford’s mindset during a Friday visit to PFT Live on NBC Sports Radio.

“He came into the league being a guy who got paid $60 million to be a starting quarterback and to play and really didn’t have to deal with any sort of competition throughout his career because economically he was paid so much,” Quinn said. “I think he finds himself now in a situation where that’s what he comes to expect and that’s all he knows. He’s never had to necessarily grind it out and compete against someone else on the roster.

“So he signs a new contract and he’s thinking, ‘Alright, I’m the guy for this team for at least the next couple years.’ He feels like, ‘Well, I don’t have to deal with worrying about the second overall pick in the first round to compete with and hear the fans clamor for him the second that I throw an interception, the second I end up playing bad.’ He’s never had to adjust to that before in his career, so he doesn’t know how to deal with it and he wants to go somewhere where he feels like he can be the guy. He probably feels that way because he had his best statistical season last year for the Philadelphia Eagles. Even though he hasn’t been healthy for 16 games throughout his career he still wants to be the guy. He still thinks he has the ability to be the guy so he’s just looking for that opportunity. So you could see why he would feel that way, unfortunately that’s just not the position that he’s in anymore in the NFL. It’s not like he’s the first pick overall coming in the draft, like a Jared Goff, who has some time to prove himself. He now has to prove himself even among his own roster and his own quarterback room.”

Quinn makes a lot of sense. Hopefully, Bradford will see what Quinn had to say and take it to heart. While it may take some time to get Eagles fans back on Bradford’s side (if they ever were), Bradford’s best bet is to accept his changed circumstances and commit to competing. It’s something many quarterbacks far more accomplished than Sam Bradford have had to do.

I dont fault howie for revisionist history ..Signing Sam and maintaining some seblance of continuity has an inherent valuation.they bas8cally traded sanchez for daniels..a kicker for daniels as he served as insurance for sam and his tutelage of the rook was in the calculation. Where they pooched it was not taking underinflated balls for sam and trying in vain to get that damn 2nd rd..p I ck lost by chip..Now wentz will compete as will daniels and slouch will be slouchy..its not in his DNA to do anything but…

more like this scenario — the Chipper bought Ryan Matthews then bought Demarco Murray & then bought Todd Gurly. There was only one correct answer and 2 very very stupid purchases.
If Wentz can’t play then 3 very very bad purchases.

CT, you’re on board now? I was watching this kids games on youtube..even when he has bad spots or makes mistakes he does not shy away, he learns from them and keeps on firing. He’s a playmaker. Wentz can be special, given the situation he’s in, I see no reason he won’t be. Next year, the Eagles can put more dynamic weapons around him as this years draft was more meat and potatoes in the trenches players.

I hope he comes around. he is hurting his chances down the road with other teams. He’s gotta put in a good year for his own benefit, and think nuts on the Birds. Sam I am is hurting himself in this. CT, seriously, at times I thought you and koolbreeze were one and the same as you were Bradford up and against getting Wentz and or Goff..that’s why I asked if you were on board now.
You can watch the games on line…some of them are edited where you only see the offensive plays which is cool. The good thing is that you do not just get the highlights or positives..you get each play, down after down. It’s all on youtube.

This always happens after a draft… The negative oriented people universally declare bust. Some guys see a highlight tape and declare a guy the next great one… Both stances are reactionary. I remember a few years ago some “knowledgeable ” fans declared the LANe Johnson draft a bust….. On here with vitriol about Bennie Logan etc…. It was ridiculous… My stance let’s wait and see.
This draft….. IF Wentz is the real deal, APlus …. E 3-7 picks…. Get a starter, some depth and some special teams and that’s great.

Then let that be your stance then Ciggy, but it doesn’t have to be mine. I give less then a darn what anyone thinks of my opinion – including you.

As fans we are all desirous of a championship, so excuse me if I am critical, or skeptical of any decisions made by Eagles Management, because the last time I checked, one of the main reasons they haven’t won a SuperBowl – is they can’t draft for a darn.

Are you sure Lame Johnson isn’t a bust??….My definition of a bust is one that doesn’t reach perceived expectations. Many claimed that he was a going to be a perennial pro bowler – and he isn’t. He also isn’t that great of a RT, so I wouldn’t be very confident of him as our LT…..but you’re welcome to YOUR OPINION.

Benny Logan, has played well, but last year got swallowed up at NT, because he is too small, and isn’t anything for you, or the Eagles to justify as a DRAFT STEAL, OR IMPACT PLAYER – that he isn’t…

You go on waiting, and seeing, and I will call it like I see it – a spade as a spade – whether you like it or not.

Wentz is a wasted investment if you don’t have the pieces around him to be successful. Our Offensive Line is suspect, we have no real receiving threats, we have no pass rush, and Howie completely overates what we have defensively talent wise. We have one impact player – Fletcher Cox, and three supporting cast members – Vinny Curry, Myckal Kendricks, and Jordan Hicks – when they are healthy…….

so what are you so confident about, that you feel that you should be critical of anyone who says that outside of Wentz, Big V, and Jalen Mills, this draft is crap??

We have a right to be critical, no matter how negative you think we are being, and I myself will continue to voice my opinion regardless of what you think…got it?

We have one impact player?

Malcolm Jenkins is pretty damn good.

Jordan Hicks and Eric Rowe showed signs of being damn good players and will be even more improved in year 2.

Bennie is not a JJ Watt caliber player. But the dude is a beast in the run game. He has proven to be consistent. Correct me if I’m wrong, but when Bennie got hurt isnt that when our run defense took a turn for the worst?

Through 3/4 of the nfl season. our run defense was ranking towards the up echelon part of the league.

Were going to see what Vinny can do in a system, and positon he was made for.
Brandon Grahm proved to be a damn good contributer in pressure, and playing the run.
Were going to see Finally what A Marcus Smith who had showed night and day improvement as his career has gone foward. Do not forget he was a “Howie guy” and I believe he will get his shot.
Mychael Kendricks, jORDAN, and Nigel Bradham could be a very good corp and I am believing people are overlooking my 2nd favorite signing in FA is Nigel. Brooks being 1.

Dark horse: Bryan Braham

Mcleod Next to Malcolm might just be a top 5 safety tandom in the league next year.

Jacorey Shepperd? Along with alot of depth at the cb posiiton should be a very interesting battle to read about when camp starts.

and as long as darren sproles is taking back punts this team will be deadly in that department.

Yes CT, Malcolm Jenkins is impact, I should know that, I suggested him as a free agent signee that year – and he has played well.

Bennie Logan is an average DT. That isn’t saying that he hasn’t made any plays, but he’s nothing to brag about either.

No, they weren’t blowing him up just when he got hurt – Teams were doing it before hand by running right at him – he was out of position, and should have been starting over Cedric Thornton at the opposite DE spot from Cox.

Save your breathe with me about Brandon Graham – he’s nothing more than a role player on this team – nothing special.

I don’t think Brooks, or McKelvin are anything special, but bring experience in Jim Schwartz system. I like Bradham, and he has talent, but I’m afraid his past injuries, and time has taken from what he could have been. I was hoping the Eagles drafted Jaylon Smith, Antowoine Williams, and or Myles Jack. We still need more impact at LB.

I need to see it from McCloed playing with the Eagles before I anoint him impact…..and JaCory Sheppard stinks spare me – he stunk in College – Chip drafted him enough said…..that’s not impact….Jalen Mills will have more impact than him.

Cliff only 12 guys from Johnson’s first round draft class had their fifth year option excercised…Johnson actually got a full blown extension. Joekel did not…ertz and Logan are solid contributors. So you can continue to blah blah blah…but those be he facts.
From this years class rounds 3-7 they need a future starter, a depth guy and a special teamer. That is a good back of the draft.

Doesn’t matter what everyone else has turned into, he still isn’t the stud you advertise him to be – That’s a fact….and not EVERONE agrees with you about Lane Johnson, even as a RT.

and Benny Logan is just okay. He isn’t bad, but isn’t great either – but is nothing to brag about.

I don’t have too much of a problem with the draft. I just feel we whiffed on some difference makers.

DeVontae Booker will be the best RB from this drat – not Ezekiel Elliott, and the Broncos got him in the 4th.

They didn’t have to give up so much for to get a Franchise QB.

I felt Jacoby Brissett, had the skill set to be a future franchise QB – apparently, so did Bill Belichek – he is the heir apparent to Brady, and will have just as much of a successful, or better, career than Wentz – He went in the bottom of the 3rd, where we had (2) 3rd rounders until we traded one of them.

I like Big V, Jalen Mills, Wentz, the DE from Florida, and Wendell Smallwood is from here – He has the same skills, and abilities as Jamal Charles if you watch his tape. I would give the draft a B-. But if we stayed at 8, and traded down we could have really filled some holes with more talented players.

Hey GMCliff
DO you like this Big V Kid from TCU? I was not familiar with him at all during my Prep Work and he just seems kind of Soft to me…
I like this Guard Issac Seumalo Player, I am not sure that I would have taken him at #79, but I do like his upside and believe he will be the Starting LG by Week 4 if not Sooner and Then take over for Center Kelce in a couple of Years down the Road..
Smallwood, Mills and McAlister all have lots of Raw Athelticism and big Upside if Coached up and supported well .. Smallwood is a Good Back and Probably a 3rd Round Talent if not for his some of his off-the Field Baggage and I expect that he will play and contribute in 2016 and Kick-Off Returner and a 3rd RB… DE McAlister will need a Year of Learning the NFL and getting Stronger and up to Speed but DB Jalen Mills could end up as the Steal of the Eagles Draft and maybe be that Nickel Back/3rd Safety, Special Teams Demon in Year #1 .. He has the Talent..

May 2, 2016 7:31 pm

That’s because me and Kool tend to look at things very similar.. There are actually alot of people I know that agree and tend to see how one could not rule Sam Bradford out from having a damn good career later on in his late 20s and early to mid 30s.

Give the man a team that has a couple weapons. Same team, coach, and system for a few years and the kid is franchise caliber.

Every elite QB in the league has other weapons around him. Brady, manning, brees, big ben, Rodgers etc. All have struggled when they dont, or there team has been banged up or injured.

Brady, top 3 all time might be the ONE you can argue thats the contrary.

Yeah, I agree he is acting like a whiny bitch right now.
But However you want to slice it, the man has had some shitty luck, both on and off the field.

CT, Sam is not the only QB who has had adversity and shitty luck. My point of contention is that he never makes anyone around him better. That’s my expectation of a franchise QB who comes into the NFL with a pedigree. McNabb had crap around him at WR for the longest time but managed to get the Eagles to the NFC championship and repeatedly into the playoffs. Sometimes the QB has to make his own luck, like McNabb did when he threw that 26 yard strike to Fred Mitchell in the Green Bay playoff game. Bradford does not have that in him, he does not have the will his team to win component in his football DNA. Let’s just face it, Sam Bradford is an average at best QB. That’s why I wanted the Eagles to run the risk and gamble getting a potential difference making game changing QB. I do not know if that’s Wentz, but I am certain that is not Sam Bradford.

Plausable.

But the fact of the matter is, Donovan had the chance to learn. He was not thrown into the fire on a bad team because Andy would not allow it. So he let Coach Pederson play most of the season.

When McNabb took over, he had a damn good coaching staff around him, with a Beast in Duce Duce, One of the best Olines in Philly history. And a juggernaut for a defense. Let’s not forget Chad Lewis and Brent Celek for tight ends.

Donovan, but alot was look at as a choke artist who could never win the big one. He got T.O and when to the superbowl, having a career year throwing for 31 tds and 8 ints.

Point is Donovan had 10000 times the help Sam has had.

i cannot remember the last pplayer who was a damn good qb in college, heisman winner, Number 1 overall pick who has not had a drug problem, troubled past, or even any red flags for that matter to come in and have bad luck like sam has.

People can call it excuses. I call it facts by naming all the shit that has happened to him since hes entered the league. From ACL tears, to his only weapons around him being injured as well, poor coaching, protection and defensive help and a juggernaut division to compete with has hurt the man.

I hope he goes to a NY Jets team to get his shot with Brady nearing The End.

Sam has to play for the Eagles this year, afterwards I don’t care where he goes. Hopefully Sam plays well and we can get a second round pick for him. Stay healthy Sam and play well!!!

The top 2 senior personnel department heads for the 2015 season Tom Gamble and Howie Roseman were both suspended or terminated which caused a disastrous ripple through the entire 2015 season. Then Howie caused another ripple through the 2016 season when he removed Ed Marynowitz and Chip Kelly all so he could be 100% in charge of the Personnel. He decided he didn’t need any help and refused to hire a replacement for the departed Tom Gamble & Ed Marynowitz position assuming that role sole under some bullshit collaboration guise. The last 2 men ( TOM GAMBLE & ED MARYNOWITZ ) were terminated because 2 place in the division wasn’t good enough. Now he has the highest paid player on offense Sam Bradford which he and only he made the highest paid player on the team; and the Best player on the team Fletcher Cox boycotting his program.

He decided he didn’t need any help and refused to hire a replacement for the departed Tom Gamble & Ed Marynowitz position assuming that role..

Additionally I don’t like the offseason moves off a losing season.

What I am saying is Howie finally be held accountable and that the standards used on Gamble and Marynowitz be the platform for that accountability.

A board filled with Bull…smh!!!

Spare me!!!

Sam Bradford has done exactly what he should have done and what business dictates!

He demanded to be traded which is precisely what he should have done.

The Eagles went to the Senior Bowl and fell in love with Wentz

According to Roseman it was at the Senior Bowl that they determined that Wentz was their guy to build the franchise around…fine…at that point they should have put the plan in motion to get rid of Bradford.

Everyone is now so on the Wentz bandwagon…great…like I said…I hope this kid is the Superstar that takes us to the Super Bowl and wins for us..I hope he is the Great One…then pass me the mustard for the crow that I will enjoy

I think the kid is way overrated…and I want to see what happens when he’s smacked in the mouth. Sure the kid looks good against Division1-AA, he is a great interview, says the right thing…I want to see the kid when an NFL linebacker hits him in the mouth…what’s this kid really made of…when fans boo, when the offensive line has protection problems, when receivers drop passes…when things aint going that well…

We will see

Kool “Sam has done what he should have done ,what business dictates” Really,is that your guise? He was given a two year show me deal (irrefutable) ,he was handed (why I don’t know) perhaps to assuage his fragile ego ,the starters role ..he was told that the Eagles were drafting a QB ..he was a part of the 2016-17 plans ,and based upon the monies he got ,he was assured ,he was being very well compensated …What part of that business scenarios ,allowed for him to be a petulant cry baby? What free agent moves were done that he wasn’t on board with ? Never heard a peep from him or his agent? When is it on point to assume you’re the face of a franchise when you haven’t accomplished anything ,in terms of performance ? This is a huge colossal dry hump by you ,to enable this strategy ,and support it ..he has less support than a tattered jock strap ..yet you still worship at his altar
.my only question is why? What other than ,proving yourself sanctimonious,is your argument? Now a super bowl or less is the line in the sand for your acceptance of Wentz..when Sam hasn’t even one a singular playoff game ..talk about a double standard …grow a pair Kool ..you made a public humiliation out of this mess ,and now you’re trying in vain to remain relevant to any conversation..ONE player came to SAMs defense (unnamed) perhaps his ex roommate ,another bum .murray I’d presume ?

LMAO…desertdork…stop it…we have given up the farm for Wentz

What exactly did we give up for Sam Bradford…a second round pick and Nick Foles…

The notion that Bradford is being ‘petulant’ is ridiculous….

He had a very reasonable assumption that the Eagles were giving him a fair shot…they spend millions on QB with him and Chase Daniels…

But then came the Senior Bowl and they fell in love with a QB that has 23 starts at Division 1AA, his toughest opposition was that juggernaut Iowa State with their impressive 2-10 record and Wentz tore those guys up with no interceptions, no touchdowns and a daunting 210 yards passing.

Hey but this guy is the next great QB to take us to the Super Bowl, he’s going to be better than Donovan McNabb…and like Howie says…”why cant he be great’?

Pardon my deep skepticism over this ‘bold’ move by the Eagles!

The Eagles lied…they didn’t tell him BEFORE free agency that they were looking to sign a long term QB from the draft at all. Drafting a QB from third round is different from giving up first round draft picks, moving up in the draft to take the second pick in the draft.

Carson Wentz has to play and everyone including Sam Bradford knows this…its obvious.

So Sam says trade him…and let the kid play.

Its business

“We have given up the farm ” ….ha …what did we give up for Sam Bradford ? Ha ..a second round pick and Nick Foles …and what was our return 7-9 Sammy 7s …woah what a surprise..he flourished late ,when the playoffs and the pressure were both extinguished..what I don’t hear from SAMs camp should be distressing to you ..yet you don’t conceptualize the real underlying argument you could fabricate for Sam…and to be honest I don’t why it’s not mentioned in the dialogue ,and why I’m hoping it plays out as I see it ..No QB is the same when handed a read and option at the line of scrimmage ..Check down Charlie may not have been given that by chip for a few interesting reasons …number one chips ego won’t allow it …wouldn’t be surprised if that’s it ..the others am has admitted it took him a while to grasp the four plays that chip ran from the same formations ..Defenders in the league said as much..Maybe Sam isn’t bright ? If chips offense had a learning curve ..BUt what I’m hoping and every true eagle fan has to hope is that with the option to audibilize and a year under there collective belts with the receivers ,that Sam pulls off a miracle …I. Have more faith in a snowy day here in the desert ,but ,it starts between his ears and in his chest …Also I think it can’t be discounted he’s a year removed from the knees…he seemed skiddish (rust ) …now ,as far as your assertions on the kid ..attitude and commanding a presence ,matter ..football. Is very much based on chemistry and leaders in the locker room ,can have a profound effect..Your boy ,is quiet as a church mouse ..he and Condon have you believe he believes he’s Mighty Mouse ,but he just can’t continue. This charade..he’s weakened and diminished his role ..but if he wants to get paid ,and he’s been riding the 100 big ones gravy train for a while ..id like you to call his skinny ass out ,as an eagle fan ..not be so on summed with QB A. Vs B ..you’re too fixated on that bs …guys in suits deal with that …they know what they have in Sam …they see a guy who is out of Hollywood (Jeffrey’s ) passion ,casting ,and they’ve. Actually not given up the farm at all .Draft picks are flexible ,you can always trade for more .So at the moment they got you a guy that the city and the team will eventually demand ..and when he does enter ..sooner or later ,I’d like to think you’d be rooting for his success before your stupid ego..

…fine…at that point they should have put the plan in motion to get rid of Bradford.
LMAO…no they shoud not have because they did not know they were going to be able to execute the maneuvers necessary to get up to two. Regardless, no one was giving up value. How can bradford get a second round pick coming off of injury, but not garner a second round pick coming off a season in which he played 14 games and was “ok”..average? Perhaps it’s because chip overpaid for him. No one else views him as a viable commodity to be the man on their team.

The Eagles are not going to trade Sam Bradford…Book It!!!

You can’t trade someone nobody wants. Bradford has been paid to do a job, he signed the contract and agreed to the terms. He needs to stop acting like a petulant child and perform the duties that his contract binds him to.
Bradford can stomp, yell, scream all he wants to, Sam has done nothing to demand anything. Sam has done nothing for the Eagles or their fans to demand or expect anything from them. Who in the hell is Sam Babyford to demand anything. He needs to wipe his tears, shut his mouth and honor his contract.

It was a smokescreen EHL..

and I have absolutely no regrets about my stance.

None at all.

I just seriously misread who was tricked and deceived

It was ‘us’ the Eagles to my chargin who fell for the okie doke

Who could intelligently imagine that after spending over $32 million in guaranteed money for QB’s that the Eagles would trade up to make one of the all time reaches in NFL draft history?

Again…I hope I’m so dead wrong…I hope Wentz is a Superstar but I foresee a disaster, the team going in disarray…the beginning of the end of the Howie era…

Wentz is a colossal reach a desperate, dumb, gamble by the Eagles.

Again…it is my deep hope that I turn out wrong…unlike guys like you EHL I would rather that I’m wrong and the Eagles win than be right and lose

The Eagles intentions were always clear…they wanted a franchise QB to groom..and they vocally stated it in the media, to the fans and to Bradford. The Eagles courted Wentz, then married him..no smokescreen!

koolbreeze,

You are supposed to be an Eagles fan… That means you should want what’s best for the Eagles, not what’s best for Sam Bradford. What’s best for the Eagles is not to trade Bradford – take a lose on his contract – and rush a rookie QB into action.

The city of Philadelphia, the Eagles organization, and the Eagles fans in general feel zero sense of loyalty to Sam Bradford. To Eagles fans Bradford represents nothing but a losing season.

No team owes Bradford a thing…. Screw him.. and you!

Buy a dog!

The Eagles have made the gamble, they took a plunge that I will admit…I didn’t see coming…

But I am predicting that it was the worse move in the history of the franchise…

The Eagles have fucked up…big time!

If the Kid is a Franchise QB he needs to play

Quarterbacks that you move up to draft, that you give up draft picks for need to play.

Troy AIkman, Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, they got the need experience by playing…not sitting on the bench

We dont need a disgruntled Bradford hanging around the team…he doesn’t want to be there…the Eagles need to get rid of him..

Play the kid…let him grow and if he is the one he will show us signs of development, he will make mistakes and grow through the mistakes like a lot of rookies do….but if he can play he can play…

If he cant…then we will find that out too!

Massive error by ESPN’s Peter King. In this week’s MMQB he wrote:

“I think—of all the people I spoke to over draft weekend—when I brought up the Sam Bradford-is-ticked-off angle, here is how many NFL folks (coaches and GMs mostly) had empathy for Bradford: zero.”

INCORRECT!!

Whatever Koolbreeze says – the opposite is true!

Koolbreezeisms where the opposite is the truth

A recently signed QB should run away from a draft pick – its the “right thing”
The Eagles gave Bradford 35 million because they believed in him!
Sam Bradford is Great!
Sam Bradford is a leader!
Sam Bradford’s teammates love him!
Last 7 games were at a high level!
The Eagles will not be trading up!
Interest in these QBs is a Smokesscrean!
Lurie dinner with Wentz is pure misdirection!
The trade for Bradford was the best thing for the franchise
Mike Vick is great!
Eagles should have drafted Johnny Manziel
Eagles should have drafted Taj Boyd
Eagles should have drafted Geno Smith
Eagles should have drafted EJ Manuel
Vontaze Burfict is awesome – better than Luke Kuchely
Desean is great
If someone takes a bottle off your table you should instantly attack that person
Unless you are in contract negotiations, then you should demonstrate restraint, but once its signed….defend your “turf” violently!
Chip Kelly – took a chance!!
Nelson Aghalor will be better than Maclin this year because he’s tougher
Demarco Murray is a great pickup
All Bradford needs is a pro-bowl oline, probowl WRs, probowl RB, probowl TE and a top 5 D and he’ll be good – he’s never had that!
All Vick needs is a pro-bowl oline, probowl WRs, probowl RB, probowl TE and a top 5 D and he’ll be good – he’s never had that!

I know I’ve forgotten some.

Idiot!

The same lame who wanted to sign Foles to a long term deal

Vinniedafool…like many on here is a terrible flip-flop artist who bemoaned the running QB Mike VIck…but suddenly is in love with a Division 1 AA running QB who in three of his seven games in 2015 didn’t complete 60% of his passes against that limited competition.

People want to compare Carson Wentz to Steve McNair…

Ridiculous…McNair threw for almost 5,000 yards at Alcorn State, he completely dominated at the Division 1 AA level…
Wentz has not and he has only played in 23 games

Picking Wentz at No#2 is desperate reach….
