Notes From The Phillies’ 10-0 Loss To San Francisco

The Philadelphia Phillies lost their fifth straight game on Friday night, falling to the Giants 10-0. Their record drops to 17-35.

On The Mound

  • Jerad Eickhoff lasted just 2.2 innings, allowing five runs on six hits and five walks.
  • Mark Leiter followed Eickhoff, and ate 2.1 innings of scoreless work.
  • Joely Rodriguez got two outs and was lit up for four runs, although only one was earned.
  • Luis Garcia threw 2.2 innings scoreless.
  • Edubray Ramos gave up a run in the ninth.

At The Plate

  • The offense was shutout.
  • Cesar Hernandez, Howie Kendrick, and Cameron Rupp all had multi-hit games, though all went for singles.

Final Thoughts

Oh boy, we’re in for a long summer folks.

The Phillies look completely and utterly dead. And management seems content to let this go on with no significant changes of any kind coming down the pike.

The starting pitching can’t make it out of the third inning. The offense can’t hit major league pitching. Right now, I’m not sure that the Phils make it to 50 wins on the season.
