The Philadelphia Phillies lost their fifth straight game on Thursday night, falling to the Giants 5-4. Their record drops to 43-76.

On The Mound

  • Aaron Nola had his long streak of quality outings come to an end tonight, lasting five innings and giving up five runs on seven hits and three walks.
  • Nola gave up two in the third, and three more in the fifth.
  • Ricardo Pinto got on out in the sixth, and gave up a hit and a walk.
  • Hoby Milner got the last two outs of the sixth, and came back for a scoreless seventh.
  • Edubray Ramos threw a scoreless eighth.

  • The offense put up four runs on nine hits.
  • Cesar Hernandez went 1-5 with a single and stole a base.
  • Freddy Galvis went 2-4 with a triple.
  • Nick Williams went 1-4 with a solo home run.
  • Rhys Hoskins went 2-3 with a couple of singles and also worked a walk.
  • Maikel Franco went 1-4 with a double and scored a run.
  • Hyunn Soo Kim went 1-4 with a single and drove in a run.
  • Tommy Joseph went 0-3.
  • Cameron Rupp went 1-3 with a solo homer.

After anchoring the Phillies for nearly two months, Aaron Nola finally came down to earth a little bit. The ace was unable to put a stop to the team’s latest losing streak.
