Tra Thomas in trouble in Jax?

No, not like serious trouble.  Just possible roster trouble.  Florida Times-Union columnist Gene Frenette says that so far, first-round pick Eugene Monroe has looked better than Thomas.

Says Frenette:

"I'm not convinced there's going to be this great competition for the starting offensive tackle jobs. Rookie left tackle Eugene Monroe looks more impressive so far than Tra Thomas, and Tony Pashos might be hard pressed to hold off second-round draft pick Eben Britton for the right tackle job. The upside of going younger at those key positions will be tough to resist. …"

If this is the case, Thomas might not make it out of training camp.  Monroe wasn't just a first-round pick, he was a high first rounder, taken eighth overall.  If they think he's ready to go on opening day, there isn't a ton of use for Thomas.  We'd all like to see Tra Thomas continue his success, but there is a possibility that he'll have to do it somewhere other than Jacksonville.
