Had Enough Of McNabb Bashing

From Andrew R,

G – i personally think that WIP610 causes alot of the issues that philly seems to have, when you have retarded calling in and saying that they don't like Mcnabb, because he smiles too much, you know that it's getting crazy/then you have host talking about the dude is passive aggressive and he needs to stand up.Mcnabb sells paper,so why not rip him.i live in denver and listen to WIP610 and i'm really cutting back on listening to this station.it makes my blood boils, when i hear people ripping this guy.he's the best thing that has happen to the Eagles in 10 years

From Dragon Eagle,

G, Just wanted to say, I'm glad someone put that in print.  I caught that stupid article by Bausman, too, and had the same reaction.  Good job.

From Marco D. Williams

I want to thank you Micah Warren for the article written today. I had the exact same feelings after reading the article in philly.com. It is so frustrating to me for people to critize this man's character. If you don't like what he does on the field that's ok. That is your opinion. I was having this same conversation at work. This lady butted in and said I don't like that guy who always has his chin strap unbuttoned. I said thank you. That is just confirmed it all. This topic gets me so worked up I can't even think straight. Keep up the great work G. Micah keep keeping it real.

From Hank Boyer,

Gary, thanks for saying what you did with today's comment on the Philly.com McNabb non-story.  It amazes me that for a city whose fans passionately follow the game and are among the most football-savvy in the country, that some folks in the media are as clueless about McNabb as they have been.  He is the very best QB we've ever had, and we ought to give him his props.  He is not perfect – no QB is – but he is a fine QB, and outstanding football player and a class act that should be appreciated!

From Mike,

Micah – I agree with about 99% of what you said and wish your voice could be heard on the likes of Philly.com, and even Daily News Live.

My only issue is with your last comment where you say (not verbatim)- "If Donovan hated this city, I wouldn't blame him one bit."  But I tend to disagree – its not the fans clamoring for his exit, but the media.  So if he wants to hate them, quite frankly he can go right ahead.

If he hated the media in this city for turning every issue into a major issue, then yes, he has every right.  But the fanbase does NOT hate him, regardless of the prevailing belief among those in the media. I've noticed certain members of such as Derrick Gunn and Angelo Cataldi that seem  to rip into the guy on a daily basis – but MOST fans I talk to appreciate what D-Mac brings to the table every sunday.

But, I like you, wish the media would cut the guy some slack and stop doing everything they can to drive him out of town.  The media is flat out doing this city a disservice every time they create yet another controversy.  I DO remember the days of Rodney Peete and Ty Detmer…and even the 4 minutes of Bobby Hoying.
